Rotj back panel color

I know that this color is a bit of a headache. But i tried the humbrol 131+76 with 101 misting. In my eyes, this looks very wrong. Too light. Does the weathering or cote finishing darken it up? I know that floquil is the way to go, but here in Norway that is not an option. uploadfromtaptalk1451897161878.jpg

It looks like your mix was too heavy on the 131. It is definitely too bright. Try adding more of the 76 to darken it up a bit and reapply.

Thanks. In a slight panicky maner i went for a new approach. Humbrol green 76 and blue 15 1:1 + a dash of light blue 48. The humbrol masking fluid has a limit of 3 days. That's what the bottle says. So i kinda feel the clock ticking away on my masking ordeal, going for day 4 tomorrow. I think this is far more similar to the ref pics than my first try. uploadfromtaptalk1451948122581.jpguploadfromtaptalk1451948133181.jpg

The color looks better. Of course it always changes tones a bit when you remove the masking and see everything interact.

Mixed another batch of green, but i think it was too bright. So i removed the masking fluid to reveal the damage beneath. I think this can work after some more weathering and touchup on the tiny bits.uploadfromtaptalk1452072108705.jpguploadfromtaptalk1452072116850.jpg

Thanks guys. Pretty exited about this sgt.fang helmet. I started my boba reasearch in 2006, and collected most of the parts up to 2010. Got myself a fettpride helmet too, that's going to be rotj se. After 5 years of life (other focus) i'm itching to complete my favourite sw character.

Ok. I tried to paint in the tiny green marks inside the silver, using a small brush. What i discovered, was that even with a small amount of paint on it, the precision is crap. The paint kinda flows out into sircles if i dab the brush on the helmet . How do you guys manage to get crisp and marked tiny pieces? This is my first attempt on the painting fun. Any tips at all, are welcome.
