Pre-Pro 2 colors

No way, TYo make a mold costs around $250 in Sillicon alone plus the cost of other materials and then the casting supplys , do you use fiber glass or roto resins , its a LARGE JOB and , one needs to be experianced in making molds for it to even work , , If Im going to make a mold and plan on making casts I spend around $450 at the specialty molding casting supplyer , Lots of the sillicons we have over here get sent over from the states so we pay a premium on them
cheapest way is to make a raw fiber glass mold but this isnt suited for Fett helmets

And besides there isnt much point makeing casts of that helmet if you want other helmets like the DonPosts just buy more Don posts,
It may seem like a good idea but unless you know you can sell a resonable amount of helmets to of set the cost there isnt much point , and no one would by a recast donpost 96 when you can get casts of screenacurate helmets

As for the paints arnt you planing on using Tamiya spray paints,? If so there a pollypropalenne(I think thatys what its called) base, but once youve coated the whole thing with the undercoat yes arcylics will work

We all have to start some were, and some people never either take the plunge and get others to do there painting and some try and never really quite get the nak of painting , but you wont know unless you try and if it doesnt turn out right try again,
(and the offer still stands if you want me to paint it for you)
but I really should streess that useing paint brush paints is not a good idea Ive only seen one person do it and pull it of and that was, Steve the Sweed

But STEVE THE SWEDE applied the base colours with an airbrush, not with a brush, and the the silver/grey scratches with a Sable Brush (#0). You know this is known as Topical and has been used a lot of time by members like superjedi, and lately by Spideyfett.

agree with jinto here mate - brushes will likely give a reasonable result from far away, but unless you have experienced colour mixing and consistency skills, and quality brushes, it will be a task. If you really want to go that route, i would try laying your main colours with sponges - they will at least give a nice even finish with no brush marks, then you could topically add your damage and scratches. I would still go the spray paint option regardless if you do a topical or layered paint job - We have some awesome choices available in australia, and many of us will gladly share what info we can. The tamiya range alone will give you a good start if thats your best available option, particularly the german field grey (which is actually a green) as the main green colour. Keep us posted mate..

i've already ordered the tamiya paints, the only thing that isn't brush on is the primer...and Jinto, i'd love to send the helmet to you for painting, but I just don't have the money to send it to you :(

O well just do your best and have fun doing it thats the main thing (y)
dont worrie to much your 16 its your first helmet just enjoy it if you like it do another one later down the track

Yeah, once I get a job (i'm actually gonna get paid $50 a week for cleaning, mowing the yard and other tasks once my mum starts up her daycare business). So once I get the money, I'm definitely going to buy one of your helmet kits, and get the necessary paints for a Jodo Kast helmet :D (after I fill the dent with bondo right?)

I can't imagine trying to tackle Boba on a 16 year old's time and income. I've probably spent as many hours working on / researching Boba Fett as I spent in high school!!

Don't get discouraged. You can do it, but for most people this sort of project is measured in years, not weeks. Don't expect to just get your helmet painted in 2-3 days. If you think 2-3 months it would be more realistic :)
