Original Don Post Helmets

since they aren't being produced anymore ebay is your best bet, or just check the cargo hold here frm time to time, someone may be selling one soon, try to stick with thr 95 or 96s though because the 97 is pretty much exactly like the rubies, which sucks.

Just so we dont get your hopes up what are you working with budget wise?
dont throw out nay figures but for a lot of people someone will come in and ask what they should get for a helmet and have a boba maker thrown at them with a hefty price of 200 some odd dollars for a cheap kit. As for the armor jet pack shin tools and blasters, there is templates for those.

My own personal opinion, i wouldn't bother with a DP. By the time you have sourced one and parted with the best part of 170 dollars, you might as well buy a Bobamaker (imo one of the best valued buckets on the market) or Sgt Fang is casting some superb resin ones at the mo for approx 170 dollars.

forget the DP because once you have it you will want to upgrade and then wish you had saved for a couple of extra weeks and bought a better one.

sorry to be blunt but it is true.

I too also believe that BobaMaker has the best deal for a helmet, I'd say save up and buy one of them. I got a DP'95 and it's been replaced with a DP recast in resin. I would love a fiberglass bucket... perhaps for C4. If you really want a GOOD Fett, a helmet that won't melt is a plus :)

X2,
i ended up buying a rubies back when they first came out. I spent alot of time/money working on it, just to give it away to my friend and buy a
Marrow sun bucket. It depends on how serious you are, and what your personal budget is. This can get to be an expensive hobby. I say if you are looking to pay more than 100 for a DP you might as well buy a fan-made helm. Also if you are above 6 ft tall i wouldn't even mess with a DP or Rubies. Mine looked like my head had shrunk

They don't necessarily melt, they just become very soft and plyable. Although I suppose the dome might start to sag after a while. But you will be able use the heat to your advantage. I kept mine in my car, and after awhile I was able to reshape it to a more accurate curve.

So should I buy a Don Post helmet??? Do Don Post helmets melt in the sun???
They don't "melt," they do warp. They helmet may become soft and deform, and you have to heat it up to get it to the correct shape. A Don Post may cost you $100 off of ebay, and for a few hundred more for a bucket you won't have to repeatedly play with to get to look right.
