Newbie seeking costume help

New Hunter
I am new to making a cosplay outfit.
I am going to Boston Comic Con and about a month ago I had an ambitious idea to do a mash-up outfit.
To put it into perspective, my three favorite things are comics, Star Wars and the musical genius of Prince. So why not mash-up two of these together?
The idea, like I said, is ambitious: mash-up Prince's Purple Rain outfit with a Mandolorian.

So yeah, not really going for a movie accurate Mandolorian. ;-) More of a stylized "classy" looking Mando. Just wanna have some fun with it.

I figure I'll start small, no need to go all in just yet. I am making the chest armor from a plastic trash can using the templates, and a heat gun for additional molding.
Not going with wrist missle launchers because it throws off the outfit. Eventually I want to add some armor elements to the jacket, but for now will be going with a pauldrom on the left shoulder only.
Eventually I want to include the knee armors, but that will be a later part. I have so much I can afford just yet and not a lot of time to get everything done.
I got the cheap version of the belt for now and will eventually upgrade to a more movie accurate one.
I got calf-high boots that look nice and will allow me tuck the pants into the top of them. And yeah, the shirt will have armor on it and will be keeping the front ruffle too. It should look pretty cool I think.

What I need help on the most right now is a helmet.
I don't know anything about where to buy it (ebay, here, somewhere else?) and what I need to know when buying it. I know I want an undented helmet, maybe like Jango's.

I'm hoping someone can give me some help with this, please?
I'll be sure to upload pics as it begins to take shape if people are interested.

Contact DVH, Darthvoorhees and see what he has available right now. He would be a choice for a quality helmet at a good price.
