Newbie Budget Helmet help?

I'm completely new to this and I'm really excited to start building my Fett suit, but I've got some budget constraints due to still being in High School and having my only income be part time summer job money. So I was wondering what the best, most accurate helmet would be that I could find for around $100. If it's unrealistic then just let me know and I'll adjust my budget accordingly. Thanks!

MR Budget helmet from ASOK is your cheapest bet with the accuracy included. Not sure if his GMH will be more expensive or not but I'd pick the GMH up instead since its more accurate if available. Also keep in mind your head size if it will fit you or not. You should do some more research on what you're looking for exactly :) I'm sure ASOK could help you out with a helmet though.

It doesn't have to be expensive. It all comes down to how crafty you can be with what you have. I'm building the helmet out of sheet metal, so far I've only spent about 20$ I had some metal shelving that was just sitting around, so my money went all to the flux wire. Given that I have a welder already. Be as resourceful as possible. Think way outside of the box, and you can come up with some pretty jazzy ways of doing things. Styrofoam from packaging (TV, microwave......), PVC pipe can always be useful. Look at things laying around the house and just think of how it could work. Good luck with the build!!! post up what things you find and how you use them.

Awesome, I think I'll want to buy one made already as opposed to building one out of sheet metal. I'm not sure what etiquitte is around here, should I just send him a message asking about it?

Yes. Look for Asok in the members list. He makes great lids at o good price and is awesome to deal with. I have one of his lids and its top notch.

I agree with what has already been said... Asok has great helmets at very reasonable prices. You can paint it yourself, and with a little help from the site (and reading a **** ton of threads) you can save a lot of money building everything you need. I've seen some very creative thinking when it comes to armor construction, and there is a template for EVERYTHING here. You can't lose.

And if ever you feel lost or concerned about something, ask the forum. People here will help, and most are very glad to do so. Welcome, and have fun!

Welcome to the 'World of Fett' brother! Y'know bud, one thing I will say, is best off going for a nice helmet cast first up. Save up a little longer if need be, but down the track, you will be well pleased you have a quality kit on your hands. It's such an addictive hobby once you get going, that if you start with something cheaper, you'll likely upgrade down the track, where you could've just gone that avenue from the start. Plenty of templates, techniques, colour lists etc on these boards, and even guys who can paint your helmet for you if you are really not confident. The search menu here is one of the best on any board, so spend some time doing some research, and enjoy my friend! :)
