MQ-1 board

i just got my new helmet that i bought from a fellow TDH member comes with a MQ-1 for the back now my issue is i got a big head:facepalm and the board hurt the back of my head with the helmet on.....i took out the board and it fits great...i like the MQ-1 board in and wish to put it back there looks like there is room to sand down the buldge where the vents is.. has anyone ever done this and will it cause any defects to the helmet...or has anyone eles had this problem and how? ill be thankfull for any and all advice that will help

i've been able to file out some of the inside of the keyslots... it really depends on how thick the resin/fiberglass is. you can also round the back of the mq-1 slightly.

the rubber one sounds like a great idea though.

I'm doing the same thing with my MH, not because its too small with the MQ-1 board in, but because of the lack of visible detail on the board with the thick keyslots. I've sanded them down quite a bit, and no defects yet. Just take it a little bit at a time. (y)

Dont 'file it down'
Take a 'foam sandpaper block' and 'sand it down' it will go slow so you wont destroy it or slip. Just rub it up and down.
