More help needed - Paint

I have just finished my first scratch built bucket and now it is time to paint it. I have done a search and thanks to many others hard work I think I know the different colours I will need. Only problem, when I Googled the paint names, some of them came up as Floquil and some Polly Scale. Being that one is acrylic and the other Enamel, won’t they react when painted over each other? I have a vague memory that you can paint acrylics over enamels, but not the other way around. Is this correct, or do I have it the wrong way around? Either way I think I’m going to come unstuck, as some areas of the helmet have a final enamel colour and the other parts acrylics. What do other guys do to overcome this (without releasing trade secrets)? Any help is appreciated.

Was it a stupid question, or is no one willing to throw in their two cents?:confused

Well, I wish I knew what paints will react with which, but I honestly dont know. Sorry I cant answer your question. If you follow the paint list stickied above, I dont think you'll have to worry about that issue, but I cant really say, havent tried a boba paint up myself..Good luck!

Acrylic on top of enamel, you should be good to go. Just make sure you give the enamel paint plenty of time to dry. You might even want to put a clear-coat on top of it before you apply the acrylic.

Never ever try to paint enamel on top of acrylic. It will ruin everything.

Good luck!
