Master Replicas helmet

Guys,

I purchased a Master Replicas helmet and I love it! I have a question for the troopers out there. What can I do to prevent the bobble head effect. is there a helmet liner I can wear? The interior of the helmet has nice padding on it and I don't want to ruin it. The top of the helmet has a velcro strap. Any suggestions?

Are you saying even with the padding it's still too large?
Some people add hard hat liners to their helmets, while other prefer to add blocks of foam. You could try either method, but whichever you try you would have to attach it to the helmet interior somehow.

Go to Walmart and get yourself some seat cushion foam. Cut it in half and place it towards the back and sides of the helmet. You don't have to mod the interior or attach it. It should fit perfect, and it shouldn't go anywhere. Good luck! (y)

Firespray,

Thank you! I haven't tried that idea, but it looks good. I think I'll give it a try! What did you use to attach the foam? I'm thinking about using stick on velcro. I want something temporary.

I don't use anything. The seat cushion foam is rigid enough to just sit inside. Give it a try, and then use the velcro if you think that you need it.

I went the hard-hat liner route on my MR. I like it a bit better, as the fan cirulates the air a bit better around the liner & your head. Its alot more work though, and you would have to remove your original helmet liner...which is a friggin nighmare in and of itself!!!! Probably better to go with the foam option if you want to keep everything original.

I used the front piece and 4 side pieces of Stormriders interior set, with velcro it will hold but if you really want it out it comes out relatively easy.

I bought a basic batting helmet ($15 at Kmart/Walmart) and stripped it of it's liner and stuck it in my Master Replica ROTS helmet and it's comfy enough for me.

On the Bay, the Signature Edition has been about $400-500, and the Limited Edition around $300-$400. For a while, there was a big supply of Artist Proofs moving around $500, but the main source has sold all they had to multiple individuals.

Then there's the MR mini helmet, which might actually fit the poor sap pictured above really well. That would be about $50, give or take.

+2 on this problem (btw the original cast taken for the Beetle Juice fellow above was from my head, no lie! lol) I have a six and 7/8ths hat size. If you look inside the styro your skillet-can came in, there are two foam blocks to keep it from shifting during shipping. Those are prolly what I'm gonna have covered with cloth, add velcro, prod'lin solved. MR inadvertently looked out for us with skinny nuggets. :)

Although, I'm kinda feelin Firespray's idea the more I look at it.....hrm.

Edit for Drake - I have the sig edition, it cost me $530 shipped from redfordfilms, and that was the cheapest I was able to find. Some sites want up to $1000. There were only 750 for worldwide dist. Mine- #230

I havent ordered a helmet yet, but I'm considering the MR one. Unfortunately, it sounds like the helmet runs a bit on the large size. Does anyone know if the BM helmet the same size?

In either case, the helmet liner/seat cushion solve sounds like a fine idea.

The BM, Mystery, and MR are all VERY close in size. Basically the MR is the size the helmet is supposed to be. I've never really had an FPH side by side with anything, but I think it's in the same ballpark too.
