Incidentally, what kind of glue are you all thinking of using to install these?
I think krazyglue would work, but it's too thin...even the thick stuff is too thin. Which led me to some construction adhesives. I've used the polyurethane construction adhesives at home for the uber bond when necessary, but it doesn't have good grabbing power.:facepalm

thoughts????

I used crazyglue for my install and it worked unreal! It's what I recommended in the first thread I had posted.

These interior kits are just incredable!! Actually the reason I signed up now, before my helmet is done, so I'll know exacly when they're back up for sale and I can jump on a set!
A question on the glue, I was toying with the idea of just hot glue, pulls out real easy if need be, and wouldn't do any damage to the foam I know, but might it not be substansial enough?

I used crazy glue like marrow sun and very small screws. I was able to find screws just for this purpose at hobby lobby.

I'm still undecided what type of glue I should use. My Foam is paint finish
but when I install the foam into my MS helmet it looks a bit tight. I guess
that's the way it should be since I didn't apply the glue yet. It seems like
I might have to use a stronger type of glue to keep the foam down.

Are most of you using Krazy Glue?....& does it really work? Any suggestions
will be really appreciated.

Not to change the subject or anything but I'm also changing my faceshield
to Green instead of smoked. What type of glue did most of you used to install or replace the faceshield.
Thanks!:)

yeah, crazy glue worked for me really well. I used screws so I could take it out If I wanted to.

I forgot to ask you MC,
Screws? I'm just trying to picture it. I don't want to ruin my MS
Helmet....by drilling holes?

Unless you bought a set under another name on the board I don't recall selling you a set of these foam pieces?!:confused Maybe New years was too hard on my brain:lol:

there are those with an amazing interior

there are those with basic interiors

there are those that have stunning exteriors so the interior is often disregarded.

and then there are those, with no helmet.

this is extremely cool, i commend you

I'm about to start my interior installation and was wondering if there is any cleaning of the foam that is necessary for paint to stick?

I'm going to be using the same Polly scale/Floquil paints I painted the bucket with which are all acrylic.

Thanks guys,
Steve

Well the parts are pretty clean out of the mold, but with anything that is to be painted I quick wipe to remove the dust isn't a bad idea.
Remember guys, you must use acrylic paints, enamel paint will crack too easy with any flexing.
Also you should be able to use KRYLON spray paint. I'm not going to guarantee that, try it on a small spot first, but the pieces being sent out have been prepainted with krylon.

here is my bucket

Its comfortable but it does slide around. My suggestion is to get it with this part and try it out.If you dont like it you can remove it.

Does stay still on your head? I mean I am considering ordering that part with teh kit, but if its uncomfortable and makes the helmet move around on your head, I don't want it. Lol.
