FPH Vs MR Fett Helmet

oh and keep in mind...that the FPH AND the MR have no real weathering or misting on them, (other than the random rust Splatter on the MR).. so that will also change the FPH color a tad, once I get there of coarse.(y)

Great comparison. Both are beautiful helmets.
For a fanmade, FP did an amazing job.
Thanks for the side by sides.

Great photos guys! Always nice to be able to give people the ability to see the likenesses and differences between helmets for themselves!

WOW!!!! Awesome pics!!! The FPH virtually looks like the same helmet and the metal ears, well....just doesn't get any better(y).

Now I'm waiting for the first re-paint/touch-up paintjob of an MR....If it happened with the MR Falcon which costs a bunch more, I forsee it in the Fett future8).

Very nice pics! That MR mandible warp really bugs me. And do my eyes deceive me, or does the MR have an extra kill stripe? I count 15.

Argh! I never noticed that. Thats just more proof that MR didnt give Lee the time of day on his incredible ESB paint master because the PP3 has 15 kills too.
So this helmet should really just be considered a PP3 and not true ESB.

I gotta agree with that !

And conversation just brought this up ....

Below are a few of the "perceived" differences between the "MR" and the "FPH" that you might be noticing, at one particular angle of course. The "red" markup denotes the perceived difference between the "MR" and the "FPH", and the "yellow" markup denotes that where they may be different between the "MR" and the "FPH", they're actually in common between the "FPH" and the ESB "Hero". It at least illustrates the method behind my madness when I made the FPH (what I was shooting for at the time), and shows the differences that DM and Spidey were talking about when they said that the "FPH" was modeled after the ESB "Hero" likeness. The same could be illustrated for perceived differences from other angles as well.

That's an awesome pic Dan !

That pic really illustrates that MR over exaggerated the mandible warp. But they NAILED the PP3 paint job !!!! WOW ! I'm sure that we have Lee (RS) to thank for that ... otherwise, MR most certainly would not have done as good of a job without him :cheers

It just goes to show, that if they actually used the "Hero" like they were supposed to ... the never ending search for the perfect "Hero" helmet would now be over :angry

Unless the the MR helmet was actually molded from the real deal, it will NEVER be the true scale. MR has to skew a bunch of things in order for people to wear them.

Scan is not a perfect copy. They have to go in there and fix things here and there. And the MR guys dont have the eye like we purest have.

But the MR helmet is a sweet bucket.

I have studied the Digital clone helmet for hours and hours. The MR clone helmet doesnt even come close to the digital version.

So that said. My books is the Fettpride is the winner.

Awesome comparison Spidey

And a big WOW! to FPH helmet.

This quote intrigues me. Are there comparison pics? Im no expert, but the only thing I can say that is obviously not accurate is the lack of the neck ring, and the thickness of the visor area...

I'll start a thread for you at clonetroopers.net forum with pics. ;)

Turo, with all due respect, I have to disagree with you. Comparing MR's Clone Replica to the Boba replica is apples and oranges. I won't declare a "winner" between the MR and FPH because different people want and appreciate different things. Both helmets are very nice but both have shortcomings.

I disagree that the MR isn't "true scale." From what I have seen, MR has "skewed" nothing on the MR, especially so people can wear them. Granted, this was necessary for the clone helmet but again trying to apply the things done to the clone helmet to fett is comparing apples and oranges.

I totally agree that the scan isn't perfect. That is easily seen when comparing the MR to the MF. I also agree that the MR people don't have the eyes of a purest. However, I think the MR stands on its own and taking away from it due to the shortcomings of other MR offerings isn't a fair assessment as the clone CGI helmet was never intended for a human head.

just my thoughts.

Very true.

Well atleast for now, we have the best that a retailer and fan can offer to the masses.

Hopefully one day we'll hit the archives and mold THE real deal.

All respect taken. :love
