eBay Bucket origin?

I've never seen that helmet before. It seems to me that it could possibly be a fan sculpt or a recast that has been scored to give the PP2 scratches.

It looks like a mix of the MR Proto and the FPH?

PS: I said MR Proto, not the MR Premium sold by FP.

Definetly not bobamaker. The whole helmet is diferent. Bobamaker's is a modified MH with casted-on ears, this helmet has nothing to do with the MH,, nor the ears are attached. The shape reminds me a lot the FPH, but the dent and the ears bases are like the MR Proto... The ears look to be a recasted FPH aluminium ears?

I was thinking this also...the stalk the RF and ears all look like FP Im gonna ask him to take a look himself

Hi Guys,

Unfortunately, the ears and stalk are mine / CommandoEight (he is the member that machined my ears and is authorized to produce them in alu).

The helmet is a recast MR production. So basically, yes the same as the Budget FP helmet, but with separate ears which means that it's not my own.

Considering that it sounds like the seller picked it up in the U.K., I only know of one that sells a kit like this with those same recast accessories in the U.K., and I've been aware of it for about a year and have been minding my tongue. But the administration is aware of it. Just laying in wait to see if
it propagates to anything else, as in the grand scheme of things it's fairly minor. But highly irritating
nevertheless.

I appreciate your all looking out for me. It means a lot :cheers

Best,

Chris

But it looks to be a really modified MR bucket with no ear platforms and with a wavy brow. I do not know about anyone in the UK selling that kind of kit with stalk, rangefinder, clear piece, and a helmet like this one.

PM me if interested ;-)

I personally dont think it is that it doesnt have ear platforms it looks to me like the MSH2 with the dent from the FPH ,
and the casting looks to good for a dodgy recast ,
I actually though it was the msh2 that you sold(FP) which you cangeed the dent,

You're gonna have to trust me on this one James.

It's not a guess ;) Remember.. I made the FPH
and the MSH2. As well as spent plenty of time
with MR productions, and the MR Prototype.

The MR Productions depending on date of manufacture and
what number, hardly have any ear platforms. When the
paint is stripped off there's even less. I'm way too familiar
with the MR, and it's derivatives. It is an MR dent.

It's all together likely, that whomever made it (and I'm sure of
who it is too), did a bit of modding, such as the brow. But NOT
MUCH.

Ok I guess youd know your own stuff ,there is no 2 ways that its origins are FP
and now looking at it again I see it does look the part,
Is it possaible its one of your casts that has just had a few mods
done to it , not a recast of one of yours , the only reason I say this is you donr often see them use clear resins on recasts,
and it is a pretty clean casting ,
All though I guess just cos some one is good at casting, Doesnt mean they arnt recasting,
they could have changed the ear platforms and a few little things to make it look like a difrent cast , but there is now hidding those ears and the RF topper

It appears to be fairly clean, yes. Especially the greeblies.
Between that and the color of the resin used, and that
the accessories are recasts, I know who it is. It's one of those
cases though, where I've been asked to relax so as not to
put a crimp on certain current projects that need to be
completed for the community.

The helmet is in no way a modified copy of my own for three
reasons.

1. They could NOT have restored the dent back to
the original MR Production dent. The Budget FP dent
was made more accurate to resemble ESB and
ROTJ whereas the MR Production was a Pre-Pro 3 dent.
The FP MR Premium uses the MR Prototype dent , because
it is after-all, a refined MR Prototype. And the dent didn't
need as much work.

2. The FP Premium has ear platforms, and
no one in their right mind would have shaved
them off, especially not in the exacting pattern
that is evident on the MR Production. And this
shatters any idea of the ears being shaved off
of the FP MR Budget because there wouldn't
have been the same pattern left behind resembling
the MR Production. It would have left gaping holes
that would have to be custom rebuilt from scratch.

3. The guy that produces them, was producing
them as far back as late 2008 and early 2009
on the QT. The FP MR Line wasn't introduced
until the tip end of 2009 through 2010 and current.

Hope that helps a little. It's way too complex that it even
exhausts me trying to keep up with it all
