DARK GREY around Dent

ok guys, i have been looking at alot of ref pics, and man, nice job on the lids...(y) i have a question about the dark grey around the silver parts of the DENT and then the dark grey that "SWOOSHES" towards the back of the helmet around the silver parts....is that the REFEER GREY that i have been using around the catscratch area and madibles? it looks more like the BASE METAL to me, but maybe its just the flash that is lighting it up some....can someone clarify for me what they use? REEFER GREY or BASE METAL....thanks!!

For my paint jobs, I prefer SP Lark Dark Gray over Reefer Gray. I just think it looks like a better shade.
I use it straight on the mandible areas, but darken it up just slightly with some PRR Brunswick Green for the dome and lower cheeks. It looks very close in tone to the Panzerolivgrun and darkening it gives it more contrast.

The streak coming back from the dent has both the gray and silver in it.

i have used straight reefer, and it looks really dark...can i lighten up now that i have used the darker? thanks for your thoughts...
