colour problem (esb)

Active Hunter
Hi,
my first post and maybe asking alot.

I'm an airbrush artist in London and would like to start painting my helmet(ESB).
But I'm having trouble finding someone that stocks Floquil here in the U.K and if they do stock it, don't stock certain colours. eg(German Field Gray or Panzer Olive Green).
i know that the German Field Gray is no longer made.
would anyone know the pantone numbers for them.
these would be use as a colour reference for me to be able to mix the colours myself.
Also if possibly the rest of the colours on the helmet.
I'd like to use liqutex to paint it.

if anyone can help me out i would be eternally grateful.

Thanks

I don't have Floquil German Field Gray, but according to an old catalog it was an approximate match to FS 34158. If you can find Tamaya paints, they sell a GFG, but I don't know how close their version is to Floquil's. According to Wikipedia, the RGB code for GFG is 77R 93G 83B. You could use that code to try and get a color you like from a paint shop. Good Luck! Trying to match paints that don't exist anymore is tough.

thanks Blipper.

how close is the green to floquil?
think i read somewhere that poly scale is a bit darker.

I'm sure I read on this board (think it was Rogue Studios research) that they were essentially identical, just different mediums (Polly Scale being acrylic and Floquil being enamel). I used the Poly Scale myself, but just added a touch of white to get the onscreen look, offscreen without the studio lights i think the real colour is a lot darker.Saying that after I lightly sanded my green I was sure it took on a very very slightly yellow hue which kind of bugged me - wasnt sure whether i was so wrapped up in exactness that i was imagining it or not.
