Boba Fett Helmet Blueprints/Templates

Since other people have done it, I figure I'll pitch in too. Not really the best of photos at the moment, but it shows well enough. This is my scratchbuild, which was used as the master for my mold, based on the WOF templates along with a few of my own little modifications. I scaled the eye slots back about 6 millimeters on each side, sunk in the cheeks a little deeper, put in the Borden connector, added the small angular portion to the mandible behind the left ear, and carved out the gutter in the left cheek.

Ok guys so first post on TDH. I have been lurking around for a long long time and just never had the time to do this with being in the Army, but after being combat wounded and medically discharged. I seem to have a lot more time on my hands.

So, for my first try at a Scratch Built Bucket, here is what I have been able to pull of so far. Any criticism will be well received.

Thanks,

I am having some printing issues. I printed the dome with no problem. But when I try to print out the rest of the helmet parts, none of them fit to page. The printing starts about an inch lower than it should and no matter what setting I use to print, I get the same darn thing. Can anyone gimme a hand?

It depends which file you downloaded. This file ==> http://home.comcast.net/~wizardofflight/BobA_Fett_Helmet_Templates_Std.pdf is in Letter format (it is located in the middle section of the first post) while this ==> http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/attachments/f23/boba-fett-helmet-blueprints-templates-bf-helmet-templates-a4.pdf-21807d1198003510 is in A4 format (at the end of the first post).

I hope it helps!

I used the first one and it took me forever to get it to print "right". I had to uncheck the print scale according to pdf button and that seems to have fixed it. Though the dome section seems to be a bit larger than the internal circumference of the rest of the piece. But a little creative cutting helped that. Going to finish the cutting and taping tonight, and then tomorrow im headed out to get some better paper stock. The regular printer paper is a lil flimsy for putty and fiberglassing. At least imo.

i'm having a bit of an issue with the painting templates. what's the best way to resize them? printed outright, the back panels are a bit too tall and about a half inch too narrow.

Which painting templates? Mine or Rich D.'s stencils? I have added modified back panel stencils for the ESB and ROTJ helmets that fits pretty well any Asok, Bobamaker, Mystery and GMH helmets. They are linked to a sticky thread in the Helmet section.

ah! I see. I'm using the ones from the zip file. I see the others now. I'll give them a shot. do you have a recommendation on which templates I should use for the rest of the sgtfang?

The SGT Fang helmet is one of the mystery helmets, so the rest of the stencils should fit pretty well (with slight re-sizing, especially the left side). Use the images from the ZIP files or the PDF files, but for the back plates use the ZIP files located above the cheek stencils.

Thanks! yeah, these back panel templates fit much better. still a bit tall but nothing like the first set I tried to use. appreciate your help.

what is awesome about this is people are fabricating stuff..learning and using there hands. Now to make a metal helmet hehe. Things have change in the past 10yrs

My hats off to you guys. Just looking through some of these pics and ideas that many of you have shared is very motivating. There is some very impressive work on this site done by very creative folks. I can't wait to get started on my own projects. Thanks for the inspiration guys.

is there a collection of post or would i just need to pick and choose and search for hints and such on making my first build?

I also used these templates to build my concept Fett helmet. I imported the PDF files into illustrator so that I could redraw the curves to match the concept helmet. Not everyone has that option though. Instead of using cardboard I made it from plastic sheets. I added a layer of fiberglass and filler to the dome to get it smooth.

Below is a link to my build.
