This is my second attempt at this.My first build I used the wrong pdf file the helmet was way to small im glad i used poster board for it.This one i use a kids crazy carpet.I still have a long way to go as you can see.Im not sure if im going to use the templates for the dome or go the bike helmet route on the dome.

Looking good so far!

It's better way to go with the dome templates. Just be careful with the top part of the slices when you cut them. You can then glue them together as I did... or the way as others did. I just glued each slice together with paper strips and it turned out really well.

Keep up the good work.

Respect!

Well I built the dome(on the left)and after it was glassed inside and bondo on the out,it would not sit properly on the main part of the helmet.I cut off the cross hatched area of the template before glass and bondo.
I have decided to build another dome and leave the cross hatched area there until both parts are glassed.Then bondo and spot putty both.

Crazy carpet is something kids use to slide down a snow covered hill on.its carpet like with to holes in it so you can hang on for dear life.
I rode one down some stairs when i was a kid,it wasnt pretty

Re:3rd Attempt Scratch build

This is my 3rd attempt at this scatch build the first were failures due to issues with the dome or inexperience working with fiberglass.I think I have it down now.
I used a couple of buckets for the main part of the helmet and some crazy carpet for the cheek bones not sure what im gonna do the cheeks with yet Im sure I will find some thing
Im trying to this with a little cost as possible.

Use some more crassy carpet on the lower cheeks , it seems to work else were and you most have an exes left over the look rather large,
Any in a few days youl have mail;

Is that a tiger in the back ground?
