The. Worst. Movie. Ever. Made. - SPOILERS

I saw this at midnight with Batninja and we had a blast. But I'm pretty sure it was more the company and event than it was the film.

I have to say George's prequel like fingerprints were all over this one. Some of the dialog rivaled AOTC, which if there's any question, is NOT a compliment. If you let this movie stand on it's own and don't call it Indy, sure it beats the snot out of SST2.

Shia isn't near as bad an actor as this film made him appear. I've seem him in at least two other films (I love Transformers) where he was 100 times the actor he was in this one. Hayden Christensen got the same thing. In AOTC, I was seriously disturbed by what I thought were his abilities. Then I saw him in Life as a House and ROTS. Those were better roles, with better dialog and I enjoyed his performance so much more.

Just call this film Henry Jones, Jr. instead of Indiana and you might be ok.

I'm really enjoying the reviews everyone has been giving. I've not seen it yet, but in my internet research of this film some of the dislikes mentioned above mirror what I have felt just based on what I DO know. I was actually kind of intrigued on the whole "Indy is older and takes on the Russians" deal. Nothing beats those bad-arsed Nazi's, but I was looking forward to seeing how the conflict with the Russians would play out. I'm almost at the point now where I WANT to see it in the theater just to see how bad it might really be.

I went in not being a huge fan of Indiana Jones and really enjoyed the movie. I took it for what it was and ended up liking it a lot. I didn't have any nostalgic ties to the originals to make me hate this one. Would probably watch it again!

I thought it was just ok. Somewhat entertaining for the nostalgia aspect, but overall just ok. Hardly, the worst movie every made and hardly the worst Indy of the series. Thought the whole "alien" plot just didn't fit right with the series and although I loved the time it was set in and the Russian's fit in perfect for that, you can't beat Nazi's as villains. I think Shia's a pretty decent young actor and had some good moments with Ford, but I just didn't buy him as a 50's greaser type.

I thought the overuse of CGI was what really took me out of the film. Everyone seemed to be on wires and green screen so I was never really sucked into the action sequences. They also came off as more of action for action sake instead of happening to move the story along like the previous films. Indy's investigations to get from point A to B also seemed pretty by the numbers too.

It's hardly a film to avoid, but it doesn't really warrant repeat viewings at ten bucks a pop. For me Iron Man is definately the best film so far this summer, but we still have Hellboy II and of course Bats.

As for the worst film ever made, it's a tie: Van Helsing and The 5th Element.

I'm a fan of Indy, and I really enjoyed this movie. I think it heavily outranks the temple of doom, too. Being a much more hater of the Communists, I really love seeing them against Indy this time.

Everyone has different opinions I guess.

i went with my guitarist and her 7 friends who are all in high school, adn NONe of them has seen the original 3.

they loved it. im seeing to them seeing raiders and crusade, as temple doesnt count.

hellboy wont rank higher than glitter....ever///// the fisrst one was worse than narnia. snooze fest galore.

anyway./... batman will rock

Raiders was it, man. Pure awesome celluloid.

The other films (and I'm not bashing them, I love them! Yes, even ToD.) were spin-offs with the same character. Hence the title "Indiana Jones and the..."

Raiders was just "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

If you can suspend belief for The Ark of the Covenant, ghosts, melting faces, The Holy Grail, 700 year old knights, Sankara stones, hypnotism, and still beating hearts, I ask you, are Extra Terrestrials less plausible?

I think the thing I liked most about Indy 4 was that it seemed like a commentary on the 1950's.

Still haven't seen the movie so desperately trying not to read what you guys write about the plot..!!

I just wanted to chime in that I totally agree with you that Raiders of the Lost Ark is definitely "pure awesome celluloid". I just love the scene where Indy just shoots that scimitar-swinging thug, makes me chuckle every time.. not to mention the whole opening sequence, what a blast. The Hovitos, Belloq, Satipo's unfortunate ending.. no wonder I have a cast of the golden idol of fertility in my bookshelf! 8)

I also agree with your "suspending your belief" argument - I was an avid reader of the Indiana Jones comics and there was alot of weird tales in there that I really liked, especially that one with the ley-lines and the russian cossacks.. and I was really looking forward to seeing Indy in the 50's. I certainly didn't expect it to be concerning Aliens (!?!) but rather thought it would be cool to have Indy in a cold war setting. So even though I haven't seen the movie, I have still been surprised since it does NOT concern the soviets and the cold war. Or does it..? I'll have to wait and see the movie.. sorry for my ramblings.. :)

Worst movie ever, any thing make by Michael Moore. Or manybe that deal Al Gore did.

Since when was Indy a secret agent? I dont read the books so I was a little loss when I was brought up.

Flettch, let me put it this way, "filth muck". Ball bearings, everything is ball bearings.

CGI has had it's day folks, enough is enough

My friends dug it. Not really genre types, just regular folks. They enjoyed it. I was lost after the A-Bomb. I felt every rib in my body crack when that fridge hit the ground. Thought Mutt was cool, but I was rebel once myself, so I am partial to my breed

I dont agree with you man I loved the movie, yeah it was a little far fetched but I thought it was great. The only thing I didnt like that there was no nazies, but its historically accurate so its not a big deal.

I liked it....my daughter loved it....

come on...go back and watch Temple and Crusade...give me a break on those films....

can I guy really rip out a persons heart??...and the guy stays alive

Oh...and the ghostly knight that is 1000 years old...

this movie fit right in with every other INDY movie

I loved it!!!!!

Well... I just gave my opinion with my wallet. I just bought the Indy TRILOGY on DVD because a trilogy is all it will ever be for me.

I'll repost what I posted over on the NEG boards...

As for the movie... just back from it.

I give it a giant....

EH.......

Man, I feel like I'm 7 years old and waiting for Christmas... hoping... waiting... begging Santa for a new Millenium Falcon... only to open up my gift and get...

socks.

That being said, it did have plenty of fun INDY moments for me but the stupid moments really, really sucked. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow and feel better about it.

The Worst Movie Ever Made(in my opinion).......
After tonight watching this movie with my son on DVD my new winner is "Balls of Fury"
