SWEET ESB Images thanks to Official Pix and SpideyFett

Thanks for finally getting these pictures out to the public! These might actually help us to figure out the ESB costume once and for all!

"Functional" can mean a lot of things. I think all the packs are "functional" to a degree. Sadly, I think 90% of their functionality was to power other parts of the suit that ended up not being used, like the gauntlets. As far as how functional the jet packs were themselves? We know the one shot smoke; we also know that several of the others didn't (solid thrusters). We know that one had the expanding grappling hook mechanism in the rocket tip; we also know that most of the rest didn't (solid resin rocket tip). Beyond that and the lighting beacon... I seriously doubt they had a lot of functionality. I definitely don't think they had anything like antimatronic thrusters.

all I know is, Jeremy, who is in these shots, had a serious Wedge... LOL!

and by "fuctional" I mean it had some purpose.... now for what exactly?? who knows?

I think a comparison shot of the back that we've all seen and the this new back shot, shows that the Black Cord sticking out was just tucked away from one frame to the next..... can you post a comparison shot of the two Art??

I say old been...
I wanted to say something stronger but can't...

These are great ref material for us ESB's to help strive a little closer to perfection (goes back to the spray booth)

I personally would like to thank Philip Wise @ Official Pix, Alex & Art for giving us some really great shots of this particular costume! (y) thank you!

Definitely agree with your definition of functional. I do believe those hoses were meant for a practical, not aesthetic purpose.

Looks like I got alittle paint to touch up as well. :rolleyes I still can't bring myself to wear the "thong" though. Thanks again over and over for these great pictures. If anybody can shed some light on that black cord that would be awesome.

I'm lovin the cape details and attachment too... top of the shoulder there is a seam that would enable the cape to drape as it does (not rectangle) and attach to the left shoulder connection on the JP! I know JK is gonna love this pic! ;)

This is like looking through "The Art of the Empire Strikes Back" when I was 10 years old all over again...To bare witness to photos like these after all these years is a gift..

The Yellow Pre-pro fusleage coming through the ESB top-coat is my personal favorite..aeh Spidey.

Anther piece I've never seen before (or perhaps better word - noticed)

What's the black cord on the back coming from under the JP over the back of the girth?
That cord is there so kids will tug on it and run away when all of us accuracy crazed Fetts put it on our own costumes!

Bro I got that too! so does that mean that the shoulders are both painted red (left side - inside / right side - outside) :confused

I think they just put them on how ever they wanted...it's different in every Screen shot... for example the hall way scene shows all four studs being the same with the red topper on the outside right..and no gray shoulder stud...so I would say there is no wrong way.(y)

Yeah that's a great little Nuance ...definately some yellow in there..(y)

Now that this pic is made public, (Thanx again Alex)
let's examine the sidearm a little

Notice the slotted tip on the barrel
Notice the Logo is still on the holster

I'm seeing that the girth is in fact a deep reddish brown and not just brown.

I can also do w/o that atomic weggie...
