Star Wars Insider...

Checkout the newest issue. Inside we hear from George Lucas how he'd like to re-visit the Czech Republic to make the new live action series. Also commenting that it would last 4-7 years! How cool is that? It would appear he's got his sights on that magical 100 episode mark to make sure it lives long afterward in syndication!
Also on a side note, it would appear Ray Park will be joining Heroes as the new season starts this fall.

I fear if they do a long term run like that it's not going to be very good. I prefer a Han Shoot's First dynamic, than some watered down kiddie Jar Jar stuff. I think they did a great job with the new animated Clone Wars, and it's got great moments and good underlying messages for the younger set, they most certaintly have hit there intended demogrpahic there. And it looks great on Blu-Ray.

If they really want to bridge the prequels to the originals, they are going to have to go back to what works, to get there.

Well man, I think George & crew sat up and took notice to what happened with Galactica. It wasn't the old school rip off many of us watched & loved as kids in the 70's. It was new, dynamic and filled the void of adult Sci Fi with crossover appeal. I would think we're in for something with more of an adult lean to it. The Clone Wars for the kiddies and this will be for us.

Yes, the tv show does sound like it will be more for us big kids ;) I didn't catch it--what channel might this be on? I know they probably don't have a definite yet, but I wasn't sure what channels were in the running. If I catch it on tv or later on dvd seasons, either way I'll see it!

They're filming the entire first season before they start shopping for a distributer, same as they did with Clone Wars.

Steve Sansweet during rthe Comic con panel, stated the live action would be for the adult crowd and not so much for the kiddos. He also said that vader & the emporer would be mention but never seen where as clones/stormies would be everywhere

I don't think that we need to worry about it being a kiddy show. When Dave Filoni was at SDCC ( on G4 ) he was saying how even on CW they were amping up the action / violence a bit. I think CW started out for younger kids, but the actual audience turned out to be a much older crowd and they don't want to lose that.

Clone wars will get more "grown-up ", and the live-action show will be aimed toward an older demographic as well.

I believe in a past issue of Insider Rick McCallum stated that there will be lots of Boba Fett in it, so I think we can expect some kind of dark, edgy, adult vibe to the show.

Last I heard was that they may shop it around to places like HBO and such, which would be crummy as I don't feel like paying just to see 1 show.

Ya know I hope they take it down to the "street". You remember in AOTC when Obi & Ani took it down to the street and cornered Zam in that bar? Well, thats where I hope they take this show. Imagine how many stories they could get just outta the folks in that bar scene. Throw in some offworld action and a couple epic space battles and you've got yourself a hit show! Man I'm lookin forward to this. I hope it doesnt get mucked up.

Does "Live Action" mean all CGI clones, etc? Like Episode 3 was a lot of ILM work? I prefer the real feel of the OT if they're going to say it's "live action"... Either way more Star Wars on TV sounds like a good thing to me!

"Real feel". I do as well. The sets of the OT were imposing, realistic because they were cobbled together by real hands as opposed to the PT which feels a little plastic. None the less, I still love it all. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with my Insider subscripion. The web makes anything published in it old news but I love to have it available next to the toilet paper.
