Just wanted to start a discussion on this scene from the trailer..

The Knights of Ren is what I understand.

I have more questions now after the trailer than I did before. This story line is wide open.............

Same. I just wanted to post for the sake of conversation. Guy on the very right has a cool helmet - he eventually turns his head

Maybe they're to Kylo what the elite red guards were to the Emperor. I think they're his personal guards that protect him on his unholy mission as he goes about Vader's task to "finish what you started." Would that be tight empirical control over everyone's pieholes? Or would that be exterminating Jedis? Hmmm... questions, questions.

You know, I'd say the Empire is almost as good at crushing a person's spirit as the alphabet agencies of GUS. But I'm thinking even the Emperor couldn't be that evil. :popcorn

So, knight to the right of Kylo holds a spear.
Knight to the far right has a gun.

All I keep seeing is that massive axe-looking thing held by 1st knight to the left, back of Kylo Ren. He's resting it on his shoulder. Massive... hopefully it chops up the resistance nice and sloppy. ;-)

Those are some menacing, ancient weapons from a bye-gone era.

I think the Knights of Ren are a "modern" rebirth of the Revanites (Order of Revan). They are a secret society of Sith who follow the teachings of Revan that includes "bringing a balance to the force". That's why Kylo Ren is set on completing what Vader started, as Vader was the one who was supposed to bring that balance.
