I just bursted into tears upon reading this post. I have a 6 year old son so I can only imagine the loss that his parents are feeling right now. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

That's so terrible.Very sad day.At least he got to spend time with some of his favorite characters during his last days.
You guys do so much for these kids, and you should be darn proud!!!

Wow...sorry to hear this news. I'm all too familiar with it though unfortunately. The same thing happened when I organized a troop to go see Christian Stafford (one of the children mentioned in Heart of an Empire). Christian passed away before we could make the troop so instead we trooped his "life celebration" / wake.

Super tragic for kids to have deal with this. Same for the families. I'd be a mess.

It's heartbreaking to hear when children die from something that should never happen to them. I'm so very sorry to hear this happened to David. I have two kids and can't imagine what I would do if I lost them. Our prayers are with you and David's family.
