A question for those with experience firing rocket launchers...

If anything, you'd get some pretty good scratching on your collar armor on the side that the launcher rests, and any soft parts between the launcher's resting spot and your armor would be worn thin.

The point of a launcher is to hurt the dude in front of you, not yourself, so there's really not much of any burn that you yourself would receive. Now, if you were standing a few feet behind another dude who was firing a RL, you'd get a face full of hot gas and soot and a free trip to the floor for sure.

Originally, I envisioned a guy who dealt primarily in munitions, but liked to stand almost within blast range--kinda pyro. I planned to soot him up pretty well, with heavy, front-facing armor. When thinking about weapons, a big launcher just seemed to make the most sense. I know that launchers are supposed to damage the other guy, and I'm trying to resist a "no kidding?" comment. As I mentioned above, powder residue is left from discharging a firearm, and I think I imagined someone who'd blow up absolutely anything he could, fire a rocket launcher at the drop of a hat--anything just to see a flash. I guess I figured that being around that kind of destruction would blacken things, but if darkening of the suit would be negligible, I'll live with it. The scratches on the shoulder and collar pieces are a good idea.
