Please allow me to introduce myself...

Jango Pat

New Hunter
I'm a man of wealth and taste... well... sometimes I have at least one of those traits. :D

Anyway, my name's Patrick, I'm an avid Batman costumer/budding prop-builder and looking to help a good friend from work put together a Boba suit. And I decided, while I'm at it why the heck don't I go for making a Jango suit for myself.

Jawafive, who I believe is a member here, referred me here.

Anyway, there ya have it. I'm 28, I live in Salt Lake City, and I have 2 part time jobs(one at a planetarium and the other at REI), and I'm planning on going back to college soon hopefully to finish my undergrad stuff.

Now to the fun stuff. I've got me a set of chest armor, my friend has a Don Post helmet(I've talked him into upgrading to a Mystery helmet), and I'm planning on scratchbuilding at least the jet pack(from the wizardofflight blueprints) and the EE-3 carbine.

Looking forward to hangin out here! :cheers

(y) Sweet! Another Jango to add to the ranks! Welcome to TDH Patrick. You will find all that you need to know about Jango right here. It truly is a great board with tons of super awesome people. The search tool at the top of the board will become your best friend as you search for pictures/references, parts and pieces. So you need to get everything but the chest armor right? Or did you also acquire your friends Don Post? I would highly recommend BKBT armor to finish it off. Send him a PM on the boards if you want to get in touch with him about armor. Definitely feel free to ask questions. See you in the Jango forum!

hi there. you're living in a good spot for doing any star wars costume. geographically speaking i mean, you're in the heart of alpine garrison country; the 501st chapter that covers utah, montana, and part of idaho. alpine garrison is home to a lot of 501st costume firsts. check out their website, http://www.alpinegarrison.com and get yourself in contact with some of the members there, they'd be more than willing to help you with your costume as well.

so welcome, and enjoy the madness.

dude when i saw the post title i was totally going to do the stones lyrics

gah. you did that on purpose

well played. and welcome

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Based on the movies alone, I like Jango more because he has more opportunities to show what he's made of than Boba. The scene where he escapes from Obi-Wan on Kamino is the bomb.:D

Boba's demise(well, as far as the movies go) is pretty ignominious. Still cool character nonetheless. Not as cool as Jango though, I think. ;)

I'm not getting the DP helmet from my friend, no... I just talked him into getting a better more accurate helmet.

And as for me the 4 chest pieces and the shoulder bells are all I have. Theyre made by FettPride IIRC.
Anywho I'm lookin forward to more of this place! I've just found WoF's arena jet pack blueprints so I'm gonna make that too hopefully. :D

Welcome aboard Pat. Are you building Boba or Jango? You mentioned building an EE-3 which is Boba's blaster, plus I believe FP only makes Boba armor. I didn't think he offered Jango armor, could be wrong though.

I'm doing both. Boba for my friend, and Jango for me.

I thought the Boba chest armor would be essentially the same as Jango's but with some minor differences. Is that not a fair assumption?

Also, as far as weapons go. I'm going to do the blaster pistols for Jango and the carbine for my friend, but I'm going to do a copy of it for myself too. As long as my Jango has the accurate pistols, I don't mind him having his son's rifle too, even if its not movie-accurate. I can imagine he might find it a useful weapon if he had access to it. :p

Welcome to the board, sir. This is the jackpot for anything and everything boba or jango...costume related at least.

Here's the only real differences between the chest armor for Jango and Boba. Jango's got the plain, silver, undented armor. Boba's got the green banged up armor, a circular mando emblem on the right plate, and a lighted display on the left (these are if you're wearing the armor, so it would be opposite if you're looking at it). The display is optional of course. Also, remember boba doesn't have thigh or shin armor.

Thanks for joining, and I, along with everyone else, look forward to seeing your progress.

Thanks again. :) That's what I thought. Lookin forward to doin this and sharing it all! This'll be my first costuming venture outside of Batman... let alone into Star Wars. I'm excited! (y)

Uh, the Jango armor is differently shaped from Boba's armor in several ways. There are some similarities but their armor is not interchangeable, even if you take away the dent factor.

that is true, but if he gets armor that is undented, he could form it into either costume. the shape isn't THAT different, at least to the point if you had boba armor undented, you'd be able to EASILY change it to jango style.

The only thing is the jango armor is formed a bit differently. it angles out a bit, where as the boba armor is just curved. if you look at the two costumes in the pic section, u'll figure it out
