New to TDH? Read this about how much you will spend!

Glad this up so you know what ya are getting into before you get started. My savings will not be spent in vain lol. Looks like a Fett is something that can keep ya busy for many years and end up with a great quality product. Wish me luck.

Wow! I had only started and i spent 900 euros. I need to find a secret entrance for all this items in my house so the "gatekeeper" (my wife ;) ) not notice anything ...

Just joined TDH this morning... thanks for sharing this information. It's a great place to begin for a newbie like myself. :O)

Plan on starting with a Han in Carbonite project (referred to this site from HIC builders) and then move onto building an ESB Fett for display in my game room. I look forward to the two projects and knowledge and experience available on this site to help my project along. Look forward to contributing back to this community once I'm further along.

I was on here along time ago, and have not had computer for a long time, but now i am back on line. am glad to see it still going and strong i am a huge fett fan, my license plate is SLAVE1. Years ago i tried to start a costume, but results were sub par. i don't have a ton of money, but i want to get back into it. i want a passable costume. i am not the most concerned with true movie prop replication.

Its not that great, for a full costume...theres some time to time in the cargo hold one in there right now as a matter of fact Empire Version mostly complete for cheap

yikes, well, it's not entirely a surprise to see some of the costs... I agree some people will want to be 100% screen accurate, but I'm betting 95% of the general population will not notice the minor differences that some of you pros will. (I wouldn't be surprised if several people have commented in the past on your nice stormtrooper outfit too!)

Guess I should start saving my euros!

the more i have been thinking about it and reading on here, I think maybe i need to start this hobby. Originally my thought was to find a costume already built, but you guys have inspired me to try and assemble one. I mean all the info is here and the members who have done it already are really the greatest resource. So I guess my first question is where do you think a total complete newbie should start?

Greetings all, great thread - just what I've been looking for. I've got a price list for an ESB Boba Fett that tops out at about $2600 including paints, screws, washers, samoflanges, etc. Maybe I'm missing something? Here's my basic list (no paints, hardware, etc) with suppliers' names omitted in case they don't want their prices made public:

Helmet - $170
T-Visor - $15
Flight Suit - $225
Flak Vest - $95
Neck Seal - $45
Armor - $364
Boots - $145
Gloves - $80
Belt Pouches - $45
Ammo Belt - $195
Girth Belts - ???
Cape - $30
Jet Pack - $300
Wookie Braids - $75
Shin Tools - $60
Toe Spikes - ???
Digital Chest Display - $70
Blaster and SideArm - $300

Those are the main things, but not everything, and listed in the order in which I hope to buy them, as time and money permits. If I've forgotten anything big, please feel free to let me know; I appreciate your input and advice. Thanks for reading. :)

Thanks for the list. I was just thinking the other day how much it was going to cost me to complete my own Boba Fett costume. I was trying to guestimate a number from compiling all the items I needed from different prices for them that I have found on this site and I came up with a number around 2500.00 US dollars. Of course the 2500.00 US dollars takes into account that I will be making some of my pieces and I will paint my own helmet. Thanks again for sharing the price list. This is very helpful.

This is an eye opener. I've been on here a while now. And I have spent around £730 ($1171) on my suit so far, with just a few bits to go:

Boots // eBay leather boots (£10) + paint
Blaster parts // wooden stock + greeblies + strap + scope mounts
Chest Light display // Bike light (£3) + printed on clear paper
Vest & Neck Seal // TDH (£68)
Wookie Braids // hair extentions (£5)
Belt Thigh Pouches // Material (£3)
Gloves // Material (£6)

So I will be close to £800 ($1290) for a convincing costume. Which isn't that bad from what I have seen. If anyone spots some mounts for the scope, holla me!

This is wicked. But I don't mind. Because the overall price of just being able to wear an outfit as ****** as this will indeed be priceless.

So far, I have spent $350. Helmet, T-visor, cape, wookie braids and boot spats. So I still have a looong way to go, but I'll get there. Some money here and some money there, and eventually I'll get there. Have to stay true to the Fett!

I got my armor pieces and jet pack for 150 and they are still on the make. So, if it is as expensive as you say, there could only be two outcomes. Either I got some real ****** costume pieces or I got a really good deal for the jetpack and the armor pieces.

I just hope it's the second option. :s

Who did you get them from?
