New join with TDH

Well, here it goes. I've always been a huge Star Wars fan and more specifically, a Fett fan. I made the mistake of buying a "replica Fett" costume last year for $650...needless to say, I was rather disappointed in the quality....it sucked....bad. Anyway, I spent about 30-40 hrs of work on it last year to make it even wearable and more realistic. The work led me to TDH where I was immediately overwhelmed by the knowledge and professional work done by its members. I've been lost for hours reading post after post on trying to make the perfect Fett costume. I'd really like to work on making the costume by first starting with the helmet but am going to have to study a lot more on how to do it. I had looked at buying a MR Boba Fett helmet as more of a collectible, but I've learned that MR is out of business and now I found one helmet for sale for $1500!!! I had hoped to find one for under $1000. If anyone stumbles on an MR for sale that is more reasonable than $1500, please let me know. I'm not sure the best method for starting out, but I may just have to dive into it and learn from mistakes made along the way. This is a very cool site and I'm very intrigued by how talented the members are.

Welcome to TDH! From what I read you want an already painted helmet (this is why you search for the MR helmet) and your best chance is the Cargo Hold where sometimes will pop up a MR or other painted helmet. The question is: which version of Boba you want?

Welcome to the boards brother! RafalFett is right. Just look around. You will see people sell their Fett but you do have to be quick (especially with the helmet), they tend to go really quick. Just look around. But most important, have fun. Everyone here is great to work with.
