That USP is sweet. I wanted one, but it doesn't have the left side controls like my P2000 does so I didn't get it. Nice R2 head on the antenna.

... Militaristic ally speaking, your belt fed weapons M249's, 240's, RPD's, and even .50's are gonna do a much better job of suppressive fire simply due to being able to put more rounds downrange at a time for a longer period of time than an AK...

While i agree with you totally, the AK surpasses those guns by being able to be put into the hands of the every man at a cost that doesn't break the bank. It requires almost zero maintenance, so even ignorant people can use them. What makes a great gun is not just rate of fire or the size of the round or how accurate they are. Its a factor of a lot of other things as well, I have a place in my safe for my AR-15 and my Ak-47 and i wont be getting rid of either of them. They are two different tools for two different jobs.

Home defense wise, I use my Saiga 12, folding stock and 10 round magazine of 3" 00 buck and forward grip. If i had to pick three guns to use for an all around situation, it would be Remington 700 30-06. H&K G3, and a Kimber 1911.

Jango 5204 Love the bike ...um ..holster? for the AR. Those USPs are NICE! I am torn between that and saving some extra and getting the FN Five Seven.

which controls?

the mag release and the slide lock are on both the right and left side of the H&K P2000. Here is a pic of the side operated by the left thumb. The mag release is at the bottom of the trigger guard, and you can see the slide lock above the trigger on the frame.

Oh, I see. We have several left handed shooters. The mag release is on both sides and we dont train to use the slide release. Small motor functions disappear under stress, so IF we lock back, we train not to, we release the slide by pulling back on it, and let it slam forward after reloading. I think it's actually quicker back on target.

Yea I hear ya, not really something "needed" for the gun to function. I just thought it was cool that it had that option for the lefties out there. My friend has a nice Sig, but all the functions are on the one side so a lefty can't effectively use the gun as well as a right handed person.

Also I don't use a gun in my work, so going to the range I don't tend to freeze up from stress like someone being shot at would be.

Randomly came across this thread. I'm liking it. I love guns. A lot. I have built two AR15's (the kits save you a ton of money). One is standard .223 and the other is 7.62x39 (the AK round). Then I just recently gave my older brother my used Glock 21 for his graduation present (complete with a 27 round magazine ;-). So today actually I just got a brand new Glock 21 and I ordered some night sights. And a 27 round magazine. I love hunting and want to get out boar hunting, which around here, is open season all year long haha! I hope to continue to build my collection....I will post pics of my stufff...I'd love to see other guys'

And Mullreel yes, I love Glocks. Glocks are kind of like Macs. And Starbucks. And Corvettes. And chocolate. Good stuff.

My stuff. Oh there's also my Glock 21. With night sights. And a 27 round magazine. Not pictured sorry.
I built the AR 15s. One is standard .223, the other is 7.62x39. Same as the AK. I added the rails to all 3 guns and got my own optics. And a bunch of magazines. ;-)
