Harry Potter, what are your opinoins on it ?

I'm a big Harry Potter fan. Just finished my Bellatrix costume for Dragon Con.

I'm also pretty sure I was more excited than any child at the WWoHP when we went the day before CV. :D

Harry Potter books are really amazing! I agree with Stormtrooperguy it got kids to read books again. We pretty much watch the movies when ever they pop up on cable, (much like another movie I rather enjoy:p)or they get watched regularly on blu-ray.
All 3 of my kids have read all the books including myself. We are all avid readers.
The movies lack alot of story the books have...cause that never happens.
It will be interesting to see how this last movie goes with sooooo much to uncover!! Hence the two parter??? I'm sure of it.
Which will suck having to wait for also:(, I can't wait!!!!!! I'm very very excited to see it, we kinda grew up with these kids its pretty amazing.
It has the the same feeling that Star Wars gave me as a kid.... anticipation! And sad to see it end.:cry

I don't have any photos yet. I'll post one after Dragon Con.

Was a good series of books, movies like most being converted from books don't take everything thats in the books and well thats a given. They've done a good job, keeping alot of the same actors there for the movies. The only thing that bugs me is the whole we have to turn the last book into 2 movies. Yes fair enough there is alot to explain but correct me if im wrong. Wasnt the 4th and 5th books bigger than the last?

DUDE WHAT THE HECK?! Just because you don't lie something doesn't mean you have to be rude.

I'm just playing around. I'm really sorry if I offended anyone. It was just a joke.
Besides I'm tapped for Harry Potter names anyway. My wife stopped telling them to me.
Again I'm sorry if I upset anyone.

I wanted to read these books when they started coming out around '97 (not sure on the year). Believe it or not I had the fore thought of holding off on the prospect that I would have son one day and we could enjoy them together. For that reason I've never seen the movies or read the books.... Until about a month ago, my 6 year old son expressed interest in HP and we rushed down to borders books and bought the entire series.

The deal we have is that after we read each book we'll watch the movie that goes with it and pig out on popcorn and goodies. We're both really exicted and I'm glad I held off 13 years because we're reading book one right now and both loving it. I'm glad that my son and I can enjoy something together for the first time. I didn't want it to be like Star Wars or Indiana Jones where I've seen it a million times but get to relive the experience watching him watch it. I wanted us to experience it together.

The story is just as fun as I thought it would be and totally worth the wait.

Never understood the Harry Potter thing. My kids hated the books and the movies and never got into him. I liked the Chronicles of Narnia better.

I truly love the books. The movies are okay, but somewhat...I don't know:facepalm not-the-think-I-wanted-it-to-be...
I really like the Prisoner of Azkaban movie. This one really has set the tone. Too bad not all the movies are that good.
And I even met my first girlfriend trough the Harry Potter fandom...shame we've only been together for 15, years:cry

Yes I love the books. Has anyone listened to the books? Jim Dale is amazing, Steven Fry reads the book, Jim Dale preforms them.

I am a pretty big Hp fan. I have read all of the books, some twice. The movies are decent representations of the books, but most if not all of them, could be much much better. I am not like into it to where I would collect props and costumes from the movies, but for me and my family ( who all love it) the movies and especially the books hold their own brand of magic, sort of like that feeling you get, or maybe not, when you visit a Disney park or something like that. The pages of those books really have something special and unique inside of them that can not be exactly duplicated. It si really impressive storytelling.

Back from Dragon Con and I've got a few photos of my Bellatrix costume. :D
