Does Fett need his rifle? (Halloween)

Hi guys.

A quick question for your consideration. Friday is Halloween as we all know and it'll be my first outing in my Fett (6 months of 100% scratch built hard graft) :wacko. Anyway aside from blowing my own trumpet, I'm in two minds as whether to take the EE3 with me as it's kinda heavy and somewhat cumbersome with all my gear on:cry. Those are the bad points but if I leave it at home will this spoil the overall look? I'm ESB so I do have my sidearm. I'm just thinking of practicality and the ability to hold a beer;)
So for those of you who've done this gig before please give me your words of wisdom.

Thanks

Hope you like the pics. Sorry they're tilted but no matter what I try they will insist on being like this :(
Two more points before someone mentions it. 1 Yes I am wearing the jet pack. 2 I know the left gauntlet is ROTJ I just like it better 8) Sorry purists

beer + Fett costume.....

it will all end in tears :cry

seriously though, i'd leave the blaster at home. Otherwise everyone and their dog will want to hold it and it will get broken

good luck though on friday

btw rocking costume :D

you know i am curious as well cause Halloween is fri, and school don't look highly on bringing gun replicas to school:angry (ik i got oss for it 2 years ago) so hopefully it doesn't kill the overall look. most of the time im suprised these guys who dress up and carry these realistic guns around aren't tackled by security etc:eek:. i guess we will both fing out friday:p

i'm at a techncial college and after the whole virginia tech incident i thought it would be a good idea that i asked public security beforehand if i would be tackled if i had the blaster. they said no but that i probably shouldn't bring it. so i as well will be EE-3less this friday

I'd recommend leaving it home unless it's really durable. My old resin blaster wouldn't have lasted 30 seconds at a halloween party.

As an aside for folks in the USA, many states require you to display a bright orange cap on the "business end" of something that resembles a gun, when carrying it in public. Although, the context and enforcement may vary (daytime parade vs. nighttime halloween party).

I sometimes don't take mine along to certain events, especially ones for kids' charities. Kids and parents alike are still wowed by the costume as is. Plus you have all the gadgets on the gauntlets to point at the camera for pics.

It's your call, but from a practical point of view, life at a party would be easier without the blaster. :) Nice costume BTW!

As far as I'm concerned, a Mandalorian is NEVER without a weapon, because a Mandalorian IS a weapon, the blasters etc. are just his or her tools. :D

You do not need to carry the Blaster, Fett is still as awesome without it as he is with it. My blaster broke a few years ago, so I had to go several months without it. When it came to posing, I fell back onto the Pre-Pro poses, and tried to look as much like Eastwood as I could. Fett really is the man with no face.

Thanks for the advice as well as the compliments. It is much apprieciated. You've pretty much confirmed my thoughts and I will be leaving the blaster at home, seeing as my halloween will be a bar hopping excercise and they're all going to be crowded. If I do need to wave a gun around for the camera I have my sidearm.

Cheers guys :)

Take it with you. When you get to the party, display it on their mantle. If anyone goes near it, hit 'em with the flamethrower. Happy Halloween, nice suit!
