d9 arc gun rip off. do not buy from symbiote-x from ebay.

Your video shows no evidence that the person you described ripped you off.
I watched his video of what looks like the same gun, in the video you can clearly see all of the defects EXCEPT the loose parts.

So in this sense one could assume damage while shipping, now if there was insurance on the item, then you have recourse with the shipping company.

to go so far as to say that this person ripped you off and to want us to take you at your word needs more, like if the item was described differently before you chose to gift money to someone with a side contract that in return that person would send you goods.

The only other action is that if you can prove to an authority that you were ripped off, then the local authority in the seller's area would be obligated to investigate on your behalf.

The craftmanship seems to be clear in the dimmwitteddinobot's video. The handle defect, paintjob and multiple angles are all right there in the vid.
Now the peice that dimmwitteddinobot seems to be weilding around in the video looks to be fairly sturdy, but appears to be the same peice.
What is charged for something does not equate to whether it is a "rip off". The real con is whether the Item was misrepresented in any other way, then the buy could have recourse regardless of whether it was gifted in paypal. But paypal wont do anything which is why I suggested local law enforcement.

i did not see the video until i had already sent the money, i found the gun on ebay, he said it was made of fiberglass not paper covered in fiberglass resin, so yes i did get ripped off. and why would you defend this POS??

Personally, I loved your review and I hope you review more things that disappoint you and link me to them. Hilarious.

I hate you got ripped though. That is terrible no matter how you look at it. Best of luck resolving it.

So you neglected to get a good look at an item and blindly purchased it.

NOW if in this case the seller tells you that it was in fact just made from fiberglass then you have a case and a valid complaint.

Im not defending anyone im merely pointing out the parts of the complaint that were missing, mainly the evidences where you point out that the item was grossly misrepresented or false representation of goods occured.

he did have some pics on ebay, but they were not as good as his video, i only found out about the video until i really started searching around about this guy. the pics he had with his auction were from some distance away so it looked ok, and i thought the prop was made of fiberglass. if it would have been made of fiberglass i could of worked on it, but how do you really fix a paper prop?

lessons learned from this is

1 ask for more pics and close ups when in doubt.
2 never mark as gift when sending payment through paypal.

i have bought hundreds of items and never really had any problems, ignorence is bliss.

I didn't mean it as an insult if you thought that. I just have a strange sense of humor I guess.
It does suck that you got taken in. While the video shows some of the problems that you have issue with, I agree that if the listing said "fiberglass' you do expect mat, cloth, gelcoat, and resin not what you got.

$220 for that pepakura IS a rip-off... There's no two ways about it. Sorry, Nan, but you're way off on this one. Not tryin to start a flame here, but instead of defending someone who is a perfect representation of why people get ripped off in our hobby...... How's about just say "thank you" to MB for trying to put up a thread to warn others away from getting ripped off by this guy. Just my .02

This guy didnt rip off MB the same way BP didnt rip off the inhabitants of the gulf coast....

And before you think it, this is not a "rushin to my buddy's defense" thing.... MB and I are not famous for agreeing on much of anything (especially in regards to my belief that he should give me his ARF set-up based soley on the awesomeness my exsistence brings to the world), but I just call em like I see 'em.

If you bought it from him through Ebay then you should have buyer protection. Ebay will help you get your $$ back based on misrepresentation of the item. Saying you gifted him the $$ leads me to believe it was done outside of Ebay to save him the auction fees. Yes it looks weak but all pep stuff starts as paper and resin it is at the very least a good starting point and I have seen your work you can make it into something nice. Look into the buyer protection on Ebay and open a case. Take it on the chin and fix it up you got the skills. Woody

i opened a cliam on paypal, they said since i marked it as gift all they could do was send him an email saying refund the money.

i was way to trusting on this and got taken. it is my fault i got in this situation and i am trying to warn others. i ignored all the red flags about this deal. never again.

i have replacement on the way so when i get that i will be a much happier camper.
