The Clone Wars Episode 12 The Mandalore Plot

My son and I are pumped and we can't wait to see this episode and the few that follow. The Insider article has some great reference shots but they skipped out on the jetpacks.

I've made a custom, or... tribute fett costume.

IMO even Jango was a tribute to Boba Fett. I believe Rick Mc Callum sais something like that but don't pin me down on that one.

Isn't this going a little far... I mean now there's a whole group of them and one even has a lightsaber like weapon.

Instead of being rare, almost every single story, game or other thing from the star wars franchise get's it's own... mysterious Mandalorian (s). But then there's quite a number of them by now, and this is all way before the original trilogy.

What made Fett so popular was the... who is that guy and where is he from.

Seeing all this, shouldn't we and all the characters in the star wars universe react like:"ah... another... man... mando... manda... ah whatever, stoic dud in a bucket..."

I like certain outfits of the mandalorians that are created by members here or in certain EU stories. But I hope all this doesn't take away from ... Boba Fett.

The black blade was in fact in Force Unleashed... with a stamp from Uncle George, it (like everything else in that game) is now cannon.

IMHO: I'm a Boba loyalist.... But, I'm looking on the bright side of this. These characters are cannon, which means, now there are more mando options for those who don't want to be Boba or Jango (Thank God, cause there are areas that have more of us, than they have trooping events to divvy out), but still would like official 501st approval.

I'm quite interested, matter of fact, to see what materialises. :)

Boba who?;)

In the Q&A session after our pre-screening, Dave Filoni did say they intentionally designed the helmet of this Mandalorian group to be "not as cool" as Boba or Jango, and that one way they did this was by omitting the rf.

I would argue there's no such thing as "not cool", but nothing can ever trump the original helmet...Boba!;)

Just a heads up. In the Q&A session, Filoni said they used Boba and Jango costume design cues in the Mandalorian city's architecture.

just watch ep12 I assume it was the first episode with mandos or shall i say death watch! unlike the comic series the death watch look the same as regular mandos.

I like the episode and the strict ways of the mandalorian ways it was awesome. I also notice parts of the city design wich resembled armor parts.

Awesome episode, indeed. There's just something about Pre Vizsla suit that's just so cool. I love how all the grey's and blue's just come together. Might have to make his suit a project someday

I'am a bit uncomfortable with these "new Mandalorians"

They are totally SQUARE! Peaceloving and civilized...
Look at there Architecture? Cubism?

I was compfortable with a Culture of Nomads and Warriors who spend an easy life but love there children and tolerate everyone who is not a huttun and using "peacekeeping" in the Skirata way: ( 'You wanna mess with us?!" - "öhm öhm NO!" - "You see, we are Peacekeepers." XD )

But Somehow the "new" reminds me of the Postwar Germany.
Our "violent past" is contempted -Those square Shabuir of the Politicans, TV-Guys and others are just talking about "peacekeeping", how "good" multiculturism is, and how bad violence is.... They think they can carreer with it.
And those "national preservers" who think they are some kind of resistance and revolutioners ARE infact just a bunch of hooligans who just spray there swastikas on some conrcrete wall befor getting there social welfare check.
i dont want to wide this out lez get back to topic

[SPOILER ALERT!]

Thinks i'd liked:
-The use of Mando'a - even if it was suposed to be a dialect its a beatiful language. XD
-The way the Deathwatch ( a.k.a. the new True Mandalorians ) kicked Obi's ***. most of the Time.
-those ancient etnical yell elements in the soundtrack

Thinks I'd dislked:
-The whole Concept of the Peacloving new mandalorians.... come on... this messes up the last 10 Years of the EU...
-the discrediting of Jango Fett as a ruthless Bounty Hunter which "somehow" get the Armor. No word about the Civil War, Galidran, Tor Viszla or his "heroism"
-Viszla seems to be a commom Name under the "concordians"
-how easily the guys in der buy'ce could knocked out with 1 or two knocks against tehre protected head

the only thing i didnt like , is when the pulled a james bond " oh the jedi is unconceus , instead of taking his light saber and chopping his head off ,lets hang him upside dow , and give him a fair chance to escape ,

Yeah, that was a very "Adam West BATMAN" way of dealing with a jedi. LOL!

Although I liked the episode itself, the whole of Mando EU has been up-ended now.
As for the Death Watch wanting to bring back the "old ways" so to speak, the only part of this that I think fits is that in OPEN SEASONS,
I got the impression that Tor Viszla thought the True Mandos were being softer and more sanitized than ancient Mandalorians.

It also seems like they are making "Condordia" into how Mandalore has been described in the established EU as the more agricultural world
while Mandalore itself basically reminds me of Coruscant with a 60's resort feel.

We'll see how it works out I guess.

I think the Mando's were concerned with a Master Jedi doing some sort of mind trick or Force Action. So best to just leave him in a Shield and smash him, kinda makes sense to me. However the problem with the episode for me is that Two Mandalore's had no problem taking out Obi-Wan with a saber, then later he defeated them both unarmed, then took on several with ease when earlier could'nt handle two?

Another thing is when Pre took on Kenobi with a lightsaber....Yes Boba Fett challenged Vader with a lightsaber, but anyone remember how that went for him?
