Anyone Else on Youtube?

The Clayster

Well-Known Hunter
Hey folks,

My name is Clay and I've been on the forum for quite a few years now. I was making videos for a while, maybe five or six years ago, but now with Youtube being as big as it is and the prop/costuming community being even larger than it was then, I figured some of you may make videos on Youtube too!

If you make videos of any kind, post your channel and I'll (and I'm sure other people) will check them out! I'm really interested in seeing if any of you post up your DIY builds, painting services, or 3D printing skills or anything else related to our hobby. If you sew, that's cool! If you pepakura (do people still do that?) that's cool too!

The main content I upload to my comedy channel is all costuming/cosplay related, so if you want to check it out, it's here:

My other channel, related to my music can be found here:

ClayDudashMusic - YouTube

Post your channels and/or videos!

Thanks people,

-Clay

This is me! Got a bunch more stuff coming now that I've moved.

I subscribed to you so I don't forget to check out your build videos. I've been meaning to do the same thing with my Jack Sparrow costume, I just haven't gotten around to it yet!

Hey Clay,

I subscribed to you both! Digging the pedalboard video, mainst69, and the gauntlets you have dv8er are super cool!

I'm glad there are posts in this thread, too! Thanks for the replies!

any suggestions on recording equipment? I had been considering doing a few videos as well, everything from 3d printing to firearms, to props

Man cameras are so good now and so cheap, just about anything from a phone to a camcorder will work. Depends onif you're going for utilitarian or artsy.
Easy camcorder for quick and easy, DSLR with different lenses and depth of field options.

this video is on how to install a visor in a mando helmet I make. I am going to focus on tutorials about casting & molding and general stuff.....

We need more how to videos on boba Fett , how to paint armour and wether kit for example. The helmet step by step guide has been ccoveted bit there seems to be nothing on the rest of the kit .

Sweet solo bro! :cool:thumbsup:

Man, I can't take credit. That song is a cover, nice tune by a guy named Waylon Payne (Jody Payne's; lead guitar player from Willie Nelson's band, son). I took a hiatus from my band to focus on having a life. When the life thing didn't really go as hoped, they asked me to come back. That song was tracked in the studio in my absence and a studio musician (actually 2) played on it. So, I played it live for several years after my return to the band and at that time we decided to shoot a video for it. So simply put: didn't write it, didn't record it, just covered it live! LOL. I just didn't want to be shady/misrepresenting. LOL

But this cover of a Keith Urban song is me. I sort of took the "essence" of what Urban did and shortened it up a bit, we couldn't do a 5-7 minute song with a super long outro. The rednecks would throw beer bottles at us! And we don't carry chicken wire!

Let's see someone do it! There are a lot of how-to videos on a bunch of different costumes, I'm actually surprised since Boba is such a popular character.

Sidenote: I've subscribed to everyone who's posted up their channels, I look forward to seeing some new content!

If you just a get a camcorder and a decent external microphone to go into it, that will be okay. There are literally a ton of different options available now, and phone cameras look great too.

Let me know if you actually have in-depth questions, I can help. In a perfect situation I'd record audio completely externally using a microphone and interface into Logic or Ableton or another recording software, and then just sync them up in post after I master it a little. I don't really have time for that, at least right now with school.

I'll be sure to add you guys, so feel free to add me. I'm gonna be more active it on with my photography/collage videos for collectibles.
