Thinking of getting an airbrush but after looking a little I figured you guys would know better than anybody. I'd like something that's nice and would be good for doing helmets but I don't need to spend like 300$ lol. Just something nice and affodable. Thanks guys!!

Iwata Eclipse....hobby lobby, use the 40% off coupon $125 youll need a compressor and a hose...so $300 will be about what youll spend....at the end of the day. Youll also want a pressure regulator, a stand for the brush....etc.... it adds up quick

I have the Iwata Eclipse and have no complaints. I use a Porter Cable 6 gallon compressor from Lowe's. It is 150 psi, but you can regulate it down to 30 pounds. It costs $100 and comes with a 5 year warranty. Also great for blowing off debris and filling up tires.

30 is pretty high....I spray from 5-20 psi

I guess i should try using a rattle can first tho and make sure i posses the skills to paint a helmet before spending the $$$ on an expensive airbrush setup.

I like the cup on top or gravity feed. The cup on bottom is ok...but it's called a siphon feed. You can get good results with either really. Like any tool it takes a certain amount of practice and skill to use.

I painted my first bucket with rattlecans, but bought an airbrush for my second. You just have so much more control with an airbrush. More work goes into the set up (thinning and possibly mixing paints) with an airbrush, but the actual painting seems easier after a little practice.
It's also easier to find colors for the airbrush and to mix the paint when you have to.
I bought a badger and a cheap, small compressor. Buy and airbrush and don't look back :)
Good luck.

I got the badger 150 used but never had been used for $50ish and I bought the small compressor used as well. No regulator or anything fancy but it's fairly quiet. I don't remember exactly but it was $75ish or so. It can be done cheap if you find a good deal.
