(WIP) My 1st ESB Fett

I have started slowly acquiring parts to make my very first Fett. Most of the parts are ordered just have to find the odds and ends.

I got pretty excited after I layed it all out and saw how much I had already and couldn't wait to start a post!

Here's my initial stain for the girth. I plan on hitting it with some dark browns and maybe a touch of black to darken it up a bit after it fully dries, but I'm pretty happy with the base color.

I mixed about 3/4 Evening blue and a whole box of pearl gray so can't wait to see how it dries up.

Here's my flight suit hanging up to dry, guessing it won't be dry until later on this week.

After realizing that it would benefit me to wash it, this is the final result. I let it air dry for 3 hours after the dye bath then one cycle on warm water with no detergent, then 2 cycles with a little bit of detergent and then into the dryer for 40 minutes on medium heat. I'm happy with the color, picture doesn't do it justice so I'll try outside when suns out. Feel free to leave feedback!

Question about my flak vest, since it velcros on the sides vs the claspe in the back (MOW) is that an auto out for 501st? I would like to hopefully apply when I get done with this. Wouldn't be too hard to have me seamstress alter it to secure in the back.

It depends largely on the GML for your Garrison and how picky they are. My understanding is that if the side closure isn't obvious you'll be ok. I am making my vest now with a hidden side zipper so I'll let you know what they say when I apply. If it's not obvious it should be good for Level 1 approval.

Should I darken it with some dark brown paints or leave it as is, it's a really poor lighting for a picture but trying to get an idea.

So I am working on getting my armor all ready to be trimmed and I recall seeing a recent thread with the dimensions as to where the chest display goes. I of course forgot to bookmark it. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. I believe Rafalfett gave the dimensions but I can't locate it in any of the templates. Thanks ahead of time!!

I thought ESB was a brown girth belt. That looks ROTJ to me.

I could be wrong as I haven't researched ESB at all.
