my boba knife 1.jpgmy boba knife 2.jpg knocked this together a couple of days ago, can anyone help me with what color/finish and technique to use in painting this piece? I will be making all of the shin tools myself, thanks in advance fett friends.

If accuracy is your game, then you should do this:

Shin Tools Original vs Fake.jpg Shin Tools Compatibility.jpg

The tube is still undiscovered, although there was a hint that it might be a microphone's casing, but with no direct results. My approach was that they used the Supertrooper/Pre-Pro #1 sling gun barrel (which is a (Tasco or related) hand telescope) but that was a dead end. The color is somewhere in the range of the right ear's base color:

Thanks Rafal this helps a good bit, i've seen some shots of other shin tool knifes looking like it's a copper type finish with some silver color under it, and would
still be curious to see some of your finished ones.

I don't have shin tools, and the first two from the image are taken from someone's work (sadly I don't remember who was), while the tube is just an image of a steel tube in lack of actual found part.

Thanks Syper, Mojo does some great stuff indeed, i used two exacto knife grips cut down to size, trying to do as much as i can myself on a budget.
Working on my scratch built squeegee shin tool at the moment, just some paint to put down and it will be finished.

Thanks for posting this... as I reach for my Floquils...

Wasn't sure if the top of the tool should also be painted, but I did it anyway!

And the rest of my shin tools. Now all original parts and how many years did that take!
