Starting out

New Hunter
Hey guys,

I am new to the site :) I have always wanted a good Fett costume and have decided now is the time but I have no idea where the best place to start is. I am unsure who to contact for purchasing helmets and armour and well basically everything haha.

Any advice would be awesome been reading through a lot of threads and seeing similar names of people who build them but I am unsure what is the best and how I go about contacting people ect....

Thanks for any help anyone can give :) ...........also this site is awesome cant believe I didn't know about it :)

Helmet - you want Animefan.

Armor - you want Red Krayt Dragon (RKD)

Jetpack/Belts/Other - Man of War Studios (MOW)

EE-3 and Misc Stuff- Molon Labe Studios (MLS) has helped me out of a couple pinches.

Other than MOW, you can get ahold of everyone right here on this site, as they are active users and make great quality items.

Also good Fett Pride (you'll have to wait a bit but it's the best) and Stormrider and Sidewinder for blasters and suck! Dakota and Mojo-Fett help out with metal bits!

Welcome,

I highly recommend you get in touch with Arkady for a flak jacket / flight suit if you want the screen accurate thing. Personally I have the Man of War flight suit and flak jacket and while they are not screen accurate...you really couldn't tell the difference between the two options for me.

For your boots I suggest Man of War (by the way you can ebay from him online) but you will need to get boot spikes elsewhere (dakota is a good source (machinecraftreplicas).

My jetpack is coming from Fett seven, but there are a few trustworthy vendors on this site for jetpacks. The problem is you will need to wait a bit for it to get done (typically about 4 to 5 months if you get a spot). In addition you will want some additional parts for the jet pack, I am getting the beacon, pulse light kit, and flight stabilizer from dakota (machinecraftreplicas) for the jet pack. The Man of War Studios one another poster suggested is nice, but Fett Seven will paint it for you and does a BANG UP JOB!

My helmet is being done by Animefan, but there are a bunch of quality helmet makers on the forums (but Animefan is one of the best for RoTJ). It's quite pricey but well worth the wait. I suggest getting the fettinator servo kit, but they won't be available for a few weeks yet. This allows the range finder to be controlled via your guantlets remotely.

Capes, wookie braids, and your girth belt should probably be gotten from Woodman. He's tough to get a hold of but very good in quality.

The best ammo belts made here probably is done by Delta13mike. He's expensive but the quality is amazing. Man of War Studio's occasionally has them in...but if you want to best go with Delta13Mike

My guantlets were painted and made by bobamaker. There are a few quality people here but that was the one I was able to get a commission from.

There are several good armor makers here. Sleepsalot did a great comparison thread you can take a look at to see how the different types compare to each other http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f20/b...-thread-51478/

Sleepsalot and 22split do armor painting commissions. Others will pop up as they have time.

One thing you will need are gloves...go with saint nasty or Major...

Another thing you will need is a jet pack harness. These can be pricey or cheap depending on what you are looking for. A new person started making harnesses on the forums here...but the best, lightest, (and unfortunately most expensive) is the one made by Kcr7pr.

Woodman is easy to get a hold of. Just send him a PM or email.

Experiences with different vendors varies. What matters is the quality of their products and how much you are willing to pay and wait for that quality. Definitely do your research and look at other threads to see which products other members are using, check with the vendor for costs and finalize if that's what you want to purchase based on your budget and accuracy goal.

sleepalot's thread is a good starting point for helmets, armor, etc. Arkady is a great suggestion for a flightsuit, vest, and neck seal, but there are other options both more expensive and less. I suggest checking out some of the build threads on the site. Some people have made a list of their items and the vendors from whom they purchased them. I did that with my current build here: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f20/...rd-help-me-pic-heavy-50350/?highlight=bcurtis

The vendors here are great and you'll find the community very eager to help. It really depends on your budget, your skills (painting, etc), and your patience. Some items will have a long turnaround time, and other items only seem to be available once or twice a year. Building this costume is a quest. Check out the Cargo Hold as well. You can find some great stuff there.

I dont think you can PM people quite yet....new members are restricted from a few things so that fake accounts cant spam the site

Click on a members name and see what options come up. If it shows the send message verbiage, then just click it and go from there. You'll kbow if you can send one or not by doing that. If you're looking for s specific member, there is a member list on the home page. Lots of names to go they though. If you are in a thread or a comment on a thread you want to PM, do the name click on their screen name. Click on mine and see if it works....

Oh ok fair enough :) is there like a time limit and such on this ?

Costa,

Unless Fett 4 Real Changed things very recently you can PM anyone on this site. The only thing you can't do is post in the cargo hold and sarlac pit. You need to wait a bit to post there and get the crazy nag screen that pops up at the top of the screen until you are no longer a newbie. That status goes away after 90 days and 50 posts.. I have over 50 posts and I am still in that status.

First piece of suit bought ............so far to go haha. Never been so excited to buy a pair of shoes before haha

Good luck building, take your time and do looooots of research and enjoy the reading. Can only agree with the guys above me. Make sure you get the right size, for me I am glad I had two sizes larger than normal shoe size..

OK having a mental dilemma lol.

These seems to be a mix of Boba's for ROTJ with the grey flight suit and some have done more of a beige colour flight suit. I don't know if I have developed a short term colour blindness or what haha. Can someone please put my fragile mind at ease haha

There are a bunch of different Boba Fett suits out there, the known ones are linked in the gallery section under the boba fett link with pictures. Otherwise people might be doing a custom mando build and not a true boba fett costume. It's pretty important to know which suit you are aiming to build and what are your end goals (do you want to have fun or get 501st approved).

Yeah doing the ROTJ build but pictures are deceiving looks like a bit of an off white almost where ESB looks more of a greyish white. Or am I trippin haha

You are "trippin" :)

ESB flight suit is a light blue while ROTJ is more grey (with blue tones). A good place to answer some specific questions is the 501st CRL.

Man I need my eyes checked haha Ill just order the suit off a supplier I am sure the colours will be right haha.

Thanks
