Splat's ESB Jetpack

Well my latest project to finish up my Fett. Working on my ESB jetpack...got it from FD in a ROTJ state. He worked on it a bit adding the removable missle and the thruster work (awesome by the way FD) and now I sanded it down and primed it for ESB paint.

As you notice I attached the backplate to the jetpack via bolts...it's going to be a one peice backplate/jetpack so I just attach it to my vest in one take. Using a very interesting setup for the harness...my wife actually pointed it out to me at Home Depot.

You still need to show me what your wife has master minded...cant wait to see. I have an idea how it could be done using straps...have a strap connecting to the top of the JP and bottom of the inside of the backplate where the lower bolts are on yours...like a backpack?

Well lets see if I can explain this....basically I'm using two cargo straps that the wife found at Home Depot. I mounted the backplate to the jetpack so it's one unit with slots for the "S" hooks of the strap to hold the bulk of the weight and snaps on the unit to attach to the vest. The straps then are sewn at the shoulders of the vest and attach at the front of my jumpsuit via grommets that I added. So the whole unit is supported by my shoulders basically like backpack straps. I'll get better pics of me wearing it....lol.

Anyway the green came out darker than I would have liked so I have to work some airbrush magic now. :)

Hmmm thats kinda what i was thinking but with strapping instead of bungee cord...and side releases to connect to the bottom...have you tried it on with the s hooks i was thinking they might dig into your back...Looks like it would work just wondering comfort level

The hooks actually push into the rubber of the strap when you wear it so I don't feel it at all. :)

The straps aren't really bungiee cord, they are heavy duty rubber tie downs but they do stretch to take up some of the weight.

Yeh we used them to tie up chains on our trucks, I call em bungie cord. You saw my harness i think im going to use a little of my idea and your bolt idea. Ive been wondering for a little while how to mount the Backplate and this would kill two birds with one stone

Its a jetpack and a bakcplate, that's BRILLIANT!
But seriously, that's a really good idea. I'm anxious to see how your harness idea plays out.

Sooooooo I got bored this afternoon and pretty much finished my jetpack. I'm waiting on the stabilizer and beacon and a decal. But she is pretty much done....I'll prob suit up tonight or tomorrow for some shots. ;D
