And so it begins...again. 3rd revision of my ESB

Hi Hunters

After long negotiations with myself, i finally came to the conclusion that the time is right to do a complete revision of my ESB suit. This time, the goal is infamous level

First up the helmet. I did not change anything of the paintjob, it is more than good for me. I changed the cold cast stalk with a aluminum hollow stalk, added a servo and did all the electronics, like the 3 lights in the rangefinder, microswitch for the flashing sequence and so on

My old Manofwar gauntlets had to go, too heavy and uncomfortable to wear. I bought a kit from RKD, pure ABS shells. I assembled them with one piano hinge on every gauntlet and a velcro closure.
I installed alco push buttons, a real MQ-1 panel, real MicroMega dental files, RKD's awesome aluminum flamethrower and small circuit board with a White led for the gauntlet light (on/off via one of the Alco's). Only thing missing is the metal gauntlet rocket.

I had a spare set of paterson tools in my workshop, so the shin tools will also go for new ones.
The only one that is finished yet is the Sonic Beam Weapon...

The old Loanstar vest was replaced with a batninja vest. I LOVE it!

My own scuba harness construction will be replaced with this one

Coming up next on the to-do-list is sanding down the old paint from all armor parts and the jetpack and repaint everything

Nice job on the servo system. What size servo did you use? Is it strong enough to lift the stalk with the lights installed? Just to be safe, it may be a good idea to figure out the servo stall torque and the weight of the stalk and rf topper to make sure the servo won't bur up after a few uses.

Because of the lack of space in my helmet, i used the Hitec HS-81 with metal gear upgrade. I had a small gear defect when i used the stock resin gearbox.
I tested the rangefinder movement continously for about an hour in total and it still works fine

The torque is 2.4kg as far as i know

Cool. When I designed mine I weighed the stalk and topper with a light kit in it and used that weight in the calculation. Don't forget that the lifting strength drops as it moves away from the spline of the servo. For the servo I used hs-77bb at 8 inches from the spline it can lift about 10 ounces. Servo city has the formula to do the lifting torque and distance from spline.

Next up is the jetpack.
Sanding off the old paint was a real pain and it took forever even with the use of Aceton!

Here it is with the new green basecoat and with the rocket already weathered.
The reference pictures i use on this revision show the jetpack in a green that is slightly darker than the helmet/gauntlet green. I made a mixture of Humbrol 76, 78, 102, and some gray tones

It looks a bit darker in real

And the harness strapping.I used 2 adjustable straps on each side. Harness and jetpack adjustment can be made seperately

I will weather the jetpack straps with a dark grey to match with my reference
