Smoking Jet Pack

So I've been looking through this forum forever and have not found anything worth value. There are some older posts from several years ago with no resolve. Has anyone found a good/cheap way to make the jet pack thrusters fog or smoke? I was thinking of using paintball CO2 canisters with an electrical solenoid wired to my gauntlet.

Te solenoid method works, gator fett has a great parts list on here for that. I prefer more of a smoke/fog compared to a burst of air. My setup works well, although emme3's setup going wireless? That's pretty awesome news :)

here is mine. I originally had only 2 minutes of smoke but decreased the battery from a 6 cell to a 2 cell and now have about 40 minutes of runtime. Smoke is much thinner so I'm debating going up to a 3 cell.

Bit of an old thread but I'm just joining up on here.
I have a working smoke pack, activated from the gauntlet toggle switch :)

What kind of setup do you have, BH20174 ? Is it wireless from the gauntlet? What is producing the smoke?

While the thread is bumped, emme3 , any news on your wireless kit?
Hi DeathProof.

I am using an unit designed for the RC car world. It runs off 7.4v power and 100% pure vegetable glycerin ( same as used in ECigs ).
Its all self contained and I've run two Silicone hoses that run through the exhaust nozzles.
The switch is wired through the gauntlet hose, to the momentary push to make non latching toggle switch in the gauntlet. I connect it via a locking DIN plug flush mounted next to the other greeblies in the base of the jetpack.
I've also got a push to make switch wired into one of the belt boxes.

The unit runs off two 2.5ml squirts into each port where the hoses attach. Since the below pics were taken I've secured two plastic nozzles into the unit to make attaching / detaching the hoses easier.

Great setup!

How long does your 2.5ml fuel last? Do you run it constantly or in short bursts? Does it take time to heat up or is it instant?

I'm looking at potentially changing things over to something a bit easier to use, preferably wireless. My right gauntlet switches are already used by my rangefinder, but having a switch in the ammo pouch works for me.

Hi mate,
Its actually 5ml, 2.5ml into each port. That will last almost two days trooping, dependant on how much I use it. I try not to set it off in too smaller space as it's quite a full plume and a little burnt smell.
I run it in about 15-20 second bursts and that is pretty much all you need to get a good cloud and people noticing ;)
The first few spurts take a few goes to get it going but once the inner mesh is hot, and there is risidual smoke in the pack / lines it's pretty much instant mate.
