This is silent footage of Boba Fett's FIRST EVER public appearance at the San Anselmo's Country Fair parade on September 24, 1978. Kermit Eller is in the Vader suit. This even pre-dates his appearance in the cartoon portion of The Holiday Special.

I thought you might enjoy seeing it.

Also, note that Fett's rocket pack jets are "smoking" as he walks down the steps.

Great footage and it brings back some great memories of that era. I was already 9 years old when this video was shot so i could have easily been one of those kids trying to get an autograph. It reminds me how magical it all seemed back then and hits me in the warm part of my heart.

On starwars.com (The Real First Appearance of Boba Fett | StarWars.com) I just stumbled across an article called: "The real first appearance of Boba Fett". It includes an interview with Duwayne Dunham who was an assistant film editor on Empire and Jedi and actually wore the suit in this first public appearance. Really cool!
