Showoff: ROTJ Boba Fett

Debater2nd

New Hunter
This is my first Fett costume, and this is what I've wanted to have since I started costuming. I'm not one of those real handy types that you find around this board, and I teach school, so I had to wait for the right build to show up at the right price. It came together about a week ago, and since then, I have been "Fetting it up" around the house, with my wife helping with adjustments to the suit.

The chest armor and gauntlets are WickedBeard, the helmet is Bobamaker. Many of the other parts are from members here, although the knees, cod and back will eventually be replaced due to quality and lineage. The ammo belt is due for an upgrade, and the blaster is unknown make, and will also be replaced ASAP...pretty much as soon as I figure out where I want to get one.

I've been toying around with adding my voice amp system, but to be honest, I'm having some space issues in the bucket (in addition to technical difficulties with the system), so that's on the back burner for now.

These pictures were taken last weekend, after a bunch of 501st buddies showed up at my house and helped me fit and re-paint a few of the pieces (like the cod, back, and back). Since then, we have taken in the flightsuit a bit, tightened up the flak jacket, secured the hoses, and made several other small adjustments. I'll post more when I take it out for the first time.

Big thanks to people who came out and helped with this...not sure what their names are here, but I know some of them are on here. Couldn't have done it without their help.

One thing is for sure...my son loves this!

Great shots man! And it's nice to see a fellow educator on the site. I have to say, your son is hilarious in these pics... it's great that he is so into it. The suit looks great as well! I have gaunts and armor coming from Jeff so it is pretty sweet to see another person rocking his work.

That looks great...hope mine turns out as good !

Just did the first official outing in Fett in a Relay for Life in Leesburg Va. This one was one of the hottest troops I've done...upper 90s in Virginia humidity. To prepare, a few of the local garrison guys came over and we worked on the Ee3, which came out much better than I had hoped after we added a couple metal rods and weathering. We did about an hour during the day, then a few of us went back about midnight for a luminary ceremony and cheering on the walkers. Aside from a bit of heat exhaustion and a break on a jet due to a fall (which I was able to quickly repair), things went very well, and I think everyone was happy.

Looks like you had fun and looked good doing it.

I can understand on the heat. Star Wars costumes were not made for Texas heat either.

Modifications continue. After seeing an excellent thread on here by travsall (http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f20/show-off-full-501st-rotj-boba-fett-suit-47581/), I wanted to add some lights. I have installed LEDs on the back of the pack, with plugs so that I can remove the lights in the event of needing a canon pack, and a couple more in the gauntlet. I am also working to add some thruster lights, but I think I'm going to have to back up and try again with those. Next up is a Salamanderking RF light set.

My wife took the pics, and I was in a weird mood, hence the odd facial expressions. :wacko
