i used 3",2 1/2",4",1 1/2" pvc , foam board and epoxy filler.

this is the basics , all cut for WOF templates.

It's strange, but I truly love seeing people put together their scratch-builds at this stage of the progress. Everything is so ugly. And then it's even cooler seeing when you work out all of the nasty pieces and put on that first coat of primer. That's when it all comes together.

Great work!!

update , added the small band because i was not smart enought to measure right the first time . added some more epoxy at the top. lot more sanding to go before the base starts looking good.

Aye, lookin good. Which Boba are you going for? And are you using foam on your rocket? If so, you'll need to reinforce it with something to make it last. I used a lathe on mine, and made my rocket from 4"x4" block of wood.
Keep up the good work, and watch for those razors.

i am going for the SE fett. i plan to make a fiberglass copy of the final jet pack and rocket when i am done making it, so it will not weigh that much. i am going to use ultrasil, i think to make the mold.

i have never made a mold before so i doing a some smaller molds first ,i am building the cod armor peice and that will be my first mold. while i am building this.

UPDATE: a little progress i added an extra band at the top so the wedges would be more pronounced. i also added the side covers. now after it drys it will be time for bondo and filler. i need my end caps so i can finish the main body.

i also added the bottom hole

now back to the rocket . i have decided to let a wood shop make my rocket and end caps, because the foam would not be strong enough and i do not have a wood lathe or i would do it myself. i hope it is exact. fingers crossed.

That is incredible!!! Will you be selling casts of your jet pack?

G-Fett

thanks for the comments. as far as selling cast of it. i don't know at this point. i have just started making molds and stuff. you got to crawl before you can walk. if the pack turns out good. then i might do a couple.

here's the finished main pack. still a little rough. one more time sanding and it should be ready for molding. when i mold it , i am going to use fiberglass ,so some of the small blemishes should come out. i also will be able to sand on the fiberglass more than i could with foam board and bondo. HAHA!!

i am also doing the opening in the back like the boba maker jet packs.
