I'm doing a pepakura build for a friend and would like to post it here to show off what I can do and get some hints and tips from those who know more than I do about this sort of thing.

For those of you who do not know, pepakura is a 3D model that is made using folded paper. It can be anything from a figurine to a full-sized Han Solo in carbonite (I know someone making one). Well, this project is the Boba Fett Jetpack as designed by Fierfek on the RPF boards.

The jetpack measures 831mm high, 630mm wide, and 182mm deep (or 32.7" x 24.8" x 7.1"). It won't just be paper, either. I plan to harden it with a plastic resin and layer the inside with fiberglass cloth before hardening it with more plastic resin. The missile and thrusters will be filled with PVC pipes for easy mounting and dismounting and filled with the plastic resin (solid). Finally, it will have the necessary straps for attaching to a harness for wear.

So, for the first part, I am printing out the templates and will be cutting them on my Silhouette Cameo cutting printer. (Yes, it's a shameless plug but it turns 4 weeks of cutting and possible carpel tunnel into 4 hours of cutting). Forty-one pages os 11x17 cardstock and two pages of 11x17 cardstock (I have to cut those two out myself).

First day of progress. I had to print and cut a couple of pages a second time. So, this is about five hours of interrupted progress. This is the entire missile built. Tomorrow, I’ll probably be starting on the thrusters.

Here’s the tip of the… um… missile.

As you can see, the tip is a little small.

And, with that, the missile began to take shape.

It's a little uneven, but nothing that won't be taken care of when I resin and then fill it.

Woao bro!!!!!!!!!! I know---------great start...........is a hard work to do and takes a lot of time, but great.........good luck...........you are making a great work....remains more to do, I know it!!!!!!! keep the fight................
