Power of Costume Questions

The power of costume exhibit is in town for a few months so naturally I went and studied Boba Fett. I do have a few questions though.

What are the three studs on the gauntlet? Screws to hold it together? Also, what is the little notch above them on the side?


What's with all this damage? Is this authentic or damage from moving the costume?


Is there a better rattle can color for the knees? The one I picked is way off...


The exhibit is open until October 1st. I plan to return for more pictures and to see everything again. If someone wants a picture of something tell me and I'll get it.

It is currently at the Cincinnati Museum Center.

Glad to hear it will be open for so long! I can't speak for those studs, but I'm sure someone here can.

I used Rustoleum Equipment Yellow for knees and right shoulder.

That's what I used but in my opinion it's too yellow-y based on what I saw.

I picked up these two paints today, they are a bit closer to what I saw. I took the pictures I took into photoshop and took the average color of the main color and base color. Came up with a fairly accurate color and went shopping. Still gonna look for a better yellow/orange though.

that looks like some pretty bad damage that is trying to be mitigated.

i believe that is damage from moving the costume and having it repeatedly set up by people who don't know how it's supposed to go.

Is there a better rattle can color for the knees? The one I picked is way off...

I had to mix colors on my knees while the paint was still wet to get the desired orange/yellow

Never noticed that there was only 1 hose connected into the right gauntlet (6th picture below & 10th, 11th picture too). I thought there were 3 hoses.

I have some snaps from the show back in March 2017 - Colorado here:

I THINK the 1 hose vs. 3 hose is a SE thing. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

SE has 1 hose while ROTJ has 3.

Are the hose connectors (or rather what they were hooked too) black-ish on ROTJ and SE or just SE?

While it may not be the same as some templates and paint guides, I think this color is much closer to what I saw.

Well, the 501st site has the definition here [http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:BH_Boba_Fett-SE] & this means only [1] hose for (SW: ANHSE) "... is the only hose present on the Promo Shot Version only" and all three hoses for the (ROTJ film version only).

Makes sense.

Has anybody else noticed that they have the Pre Pro 3 helmet on this Boba and not the ESB. Good photos!

Yep. The Pre-Pro 3 there. Not sure if that's the same one the MR line used when they 3D rotoscope scanned their master.
