Nemrod holster? let's discuss

looks like it was cut off.

i have another question not quite realted to the topic, but looking at those clear pictures, i noticed that the rifle scope is mounted the wrong way, i saw that in a bunch of esb photos already, any input why that is? shouldn't Boba Fett know better??

Yeah the flash tube was inserted two different ways for the ESB rifle. In some images you could see those little wired things in the inside and some it's all hollow. Personally, I like the hollow look.

Ok back to the topic. anyone else with ideas, images, high rez images, clearere images, etc....

Let's get it right before I slice this front pocket.:p

In my opinion the knife part looks like it was cut off. That is a great find man! And good eye Bountyone on catching that guant  I just have to ask, did you try the spear gun out?

well, as far as I can see, the knife sheath isn't there.... But I simply can't see them slicing it off for the movie. They wouldn't bother. I think we just have the wrong holster. Honestly, I would stick with what you have for now and not mod it, until we find the right one. Keep in mind that it is likely that the holsters weren't made by nemrod, but made for them by someone else, so it is possible that the basic holster design was used for a number of companies.

I am convinced it is a Nemrod holster due to the triangle type logo you can see on the ESB image in Turo's first post.
But check out all these Nemrod spear guns from a Nemrod catalog from the 70's

Isn't is possible they used a different model holster than the one we are thinking?
Just seems unlikely that ALL of them would have the knife holder option. Or even a later model from the late 60's?

All I know is someone here is beating me on my nemrod on evilbay grrrr......^_~ grats if you beat me on it.

Is it possible they cast an original nemrod hoster, made a few adjustments and then made more copies for Boba and the bespin guys such as removing the logo etc? Nice find Turo (y)

Just found this, I think the type you have Turo is the Nemrod Clipper correct? This is a Nemrod Corsario which I think closely resembles the grip of the ESB sidearm? I still think the holster is correct

that is what im thinking. i have both of these spearguns and plan on doing a combo of the corsario grip/gun with the clipper holster. i may fill in the knife slot or look at it closer about shaving it out.

There is no doubt in my mind that if they used this holster they had to have removed the knife pocket. The only other alternative is that there is an other yet undiscovered holster out there.

I have spend literally hundreds of hours studying pictures for the purposes of reverse engineering props and models. One main issue to consider pictures can be very deceptive, as it was pointed out, the holster in the studio picture looks to be a little longer. What is more like the case is that the picture has been for lack of a better word been "stretched". This can be cause by number of things, from the type of lenses used to do the filming to as simple as someone playing with aspect ratio of the picture.

At this point in time I find it hard to belief that there is an other holster out there, someone would have discovered it by now. Plus the fact that manufactures hate to reinvest in tooling to recreate an item when they already have tooling for a viable product.

As for the question why didn't they remove the logo? Why bother? On screen no one would ever know what it is, it is those of us that are trying to recreate it that would ever notice and now lets be honest the filmmakers could care less about us.

Film making is all about the art of illusion. They don't need to have things perfect, if you can't see the left side of something in the film then don't spend the money building it etc...

From everything that I have seen this is the correct holster with the knife sheathe removed. Just my two cents worth.

While the Nemrod holster could very well be the correct base holster for the screen used holster(s)… I just find it hard to believe that they would have gone to the trouble of removing the knife sheath/compartment… but not remove the logo? Something just doesn’t make sense to me.

There are countless props and parts used in the SW trilogy that have not been identified and I’m still holding onto the hope that just maybe there is another “off-the-shelf” holster without the knife sheath that we have not seen yet.

I think that the knife sheath/compartment wasn't removed. Please see this composite:

What do you think Turo (& all)?

I really dont see the insert/slot for the knife.

Maybe it's an earlier version with just a small loop on the bottom for the knife to rest.

Then later on, alot of divers where complaining that they were gettin cut by the end of the blade, and made a whole small pouch for the knife and still has the small loop for the top of the handle.
