Need help! ROTJ fabric color

I am currently almost out of the fabric I use for ROTJ flight suits and I need to get more. I am going on a shopping trip to the LA fabric district on Monday and if I find some grey twill, then perfect. However, I have been looking for it for a while and have not found any so I may have to resort to getting white twill that is prepared for dye and having it professionally dyed. But I need some help to get it exactly right. If I do get it dyed, it will be using a Pantone color so this is my chance to get it exactly the right color. So, great knowledgable people of TDH, what exactly is the perfect color for ROTJ? I have always thought it was a grayish/ khaki color but now the 501st is stating that it must be grey. And for the level three, which I might as well go for, it says light gray with a cool, blue hue.So what exactly is that? Here is a pantone color that I just pulled up, what do you all think?
PANTONE 14-4106 TPX Gray Dawn - find a PANTONE Color
I am open to any and all discussions and suggestions. I want to be able to give you guys the best color I can.
Thanks!
I forgot to add, if anybody wants to go to pantone and look at the colors, I need the fashion and interior colors.

I say you are pretty close:

ROTJ Flight Suit Color - Arkady.jpg

Carole, it's awesome that you're continuing to improve your craft and give customers the best product possible. I hope this draws even more people to order from you - and I can't wait for my own suit, whether it's the new material or not.

I would agree with Rafal. Looks pretty good. At the very least you are close enough that with minor tweaking and weathering the buyer will be where he needs to be.

Ill be happy with that when I finally get around to ordering! ( no I haven't forgotten. just waiting for $$).! looks Great!

In all seriousness Carole, I think it's a great idea to aim to provide a product that meets the highest criteria. You would be taking a lot of the guesswork out of the process for people unfamiliar with dying fabrics.

As for the color; the description "light grey with a cool, blue hue" makes getting level 3 approval depend on the opinion of the reviewer. It's a tough color too, cause most cool grays look blue, and steel blues look gray (as far as pantones go). All that being said - the color you've selected looks pretty close. At first it looks rather gray by itself, but after looking at the pantones adjacent to the one you selected in a group; it's got that blue hue I think we're shooting for! Can't wait to see it!!!

Thanks for the input guys. I will print that pantone color out and have it on my phone. I'll keep you all posted on what I find.

Here is islandic blue (left) and grey dawn (right) side by side. I also believe these are actual fabric swatches.

The grey dawn might be nicer as it's a lighter colour. The islandic blue might be too dark.

I did a little bit of looking....what do you think of "Spa Blue?" It's lighter, but I think the suit has to have that 'faded/bleached' look.

Plus...it's got 'blue' in the title....can't go wrong there.

The spa blue looks like what I use for ESB.
I took a picture of the fabric but its indoors and the picture doesn't really look like the fabric. If it stops raining, I'll take a picture outside and see if it comes out better.

The spa blue looks a bit light for ESB, think it should be a couple of shades more blue.
I think the original choice you had for the ROTJ is pretty close.

Agreed...the spa blue might not work. Did some more digging. What do you think of these?

From Left to Right:

Arctic Ice
Plein Air
Illusion Blue
Grey Dawn

I'm thinking Plein Air might be a good match. It has that slight hint of blue that would be good for the higher level. I like Grey Dawn, but just thought I'd put some other colours to compare it to. Sorry if I'm overcomplicating things :)

Is there a such thing as "over-complication"...? haha! To be honest - I think we need to revisit the description to see which one actually provides the best solution. To me (just my opinion), Illusion Blue looks more like "Light Gray, with a cool blue hue" than the others. Plein Air looks close, but maybe too blue...? haha!

I need to throw on a beret if I'm going to be selecting colors!

I like the spa blue and plein air (the latter more for ESB). One thing I've noticed with a lot of flight suits is that the fabric takes on a purple or lavender hue in the sunlight. You really don't want that.

I concur with Boochman that Illusion Blue fits the description best. Gray Dawn seems a tad too dark and Plein Air is too blue.

This is why I put this out there :) My head started spinning looking at all the colors. I was looking in the gallery and here's a picture I thought shows the color well:

And a close up (sorry for the quality, I'm not so computer savvy) of under the short sleeve, where it looks more blue:

I know it's supposed to be the same suit as the ESB, but to me it doesn't look faded, it seems like something else was done to it. It still looks greyish/tan to me.
Again, if I can find some light grey, I'm going to grab it but if not, I'll need to go with one of these colors :)
