Mounted my TK-409 Chest Display

BooBoo Fett

Active Hunter
After putting so much time and effort into my Fett, I just couldn't see taping my chest display in place. I wanted something practical and permanent, but would still allow removal / replacement of the display if things went south. I searched around The Dent looking for pictures of how other members mounted theirs but couldn't find anything. The Gallery is down so that was out.

For my solution, I cut two pieces of square length from a Teflon cutting board. Sanded them down to reduce their profile. Measured the height of the display from the back of the board to the top of the LED's. Used that measurement to locate and cut a slot in each mounting block. I attached the mounting blocks to the back of the armor with JB Weld (who knew?). Now that the blocks are mounted, I'll hit the top mount with my Dremel to reduce its profile a bit more.

I made a battery pouch with a piece of left over leather and mounted it on one of the Ab Plate mounting screws. I used another small piece of leather to secure the battery wiring. And done.

Hi Terry,

That's a good mod there bro....and some great pics of the chest lights... Seems very straightforward.....ingenious use of those holding blocks, probably prevents any shorting of the chestlights too I guess... afterall Jeff's armour is conductive metal... hehe

I was going to go with Fettronics lights but after seeing this i'll may just go for TK409's...

Awesome......
