Today I recieved a box from Great Britain::)

I am pleased with this. But after everything will be finished, I´ll try to build a jet pack out of sintra myself.

It´s been a while since my last update... I´m sick. A virus infection, like a flu. BUT I´m feeling better from day to day.

Soooooooooo.... today I recieved a letter which had a long way around the world from Argentina:
P2130074.JPG

Can you guess it?
P2130075.JPG

...now you can see it?!
P2130076.JPG

What makes me a little sad is the fact, the screws are missing. :facepalm I´ll have to contact the seller, if he just forgot to put them in or they are lost when the letter stucked in german customs for about 2 weeks. All the screws I got (and that´s a lot of them) are too big or too small, and those who fit are too long...

Even the jet pack I got, means a lot of work... I had to recognize a lot of broken areas (even a little hole on the underside) and the rocket was broken in two pieces. This seems to be happen during the transport.

Now it´s time to go back on the couch... Hope to give you some more progress pics as soon as possible. Stay tuned... :D

Thanks, mate! I´m glad being helpful!

As promised, the afternoon update:

I´m working on the knees, building the base for the knee darts. I´m using Rafal´s Templates, but as you can see in the first pic, only using the red-marked front support piece.
P3090076.JPG
I made 6 pieces for each side using 3mm sintra. 2 complete parts for the front section, where the 2 holes are drilled for the screws holding the aluminium knee parts. The 3 middle parts have a space on the inside for the screws. Now step by step the 6 pieces are glued together, and the screw-heads are glued to the back part for stabilizing.

Now, I´ve finished the 2 parts, I can start sanding the rough edges to get it in shape. To compare: on the left side the sanded part.

More to come... :)

Update on the jet pack: I had to find out, that it was badly broken, even a 2cm hole was at the bottom. I won´t waste my time repairing it. Sad but true.

Here, I glued the both side pieces together using duct tape. To secure the screws (I´ll be using primer to see the imperfections better), I use a washer and a mother for each screw.
P3160079.JPGP3160080.JPGP3160081.JPG

So, now it´s time for some primer and a little test-fit.
P3160082.JPGP3160084.JPG

To secure the side parts, I use 3 screws for each side. The side parts are filled with hot glue, so the screws will stay in position. Now the side parts can easily be sticked to the knee armor.

Next step will be to smooth the edges and the side parts will be glued into position.

Sanded the corners of the side parts. (on the left the sanded, on the right before sanding the edges)

After that, I glued the side parts using gel-superglue to the knee armor. Filled the holes on the inside and all the gaps.

I think it turned out really well.:cool

Started working on the shoulder armor. Therefore also using RafalFetts templates. For each shoulder armor I´ll use two layers 3mm sintra parts, to give them more thickness.
P3230102.JPG
The inner layer is a little bigger than the outer one, so once it´s curved, I can cut away the parts which are too much. So, I don´t have to be afraid the inner would be too short.
P3230104.JPG
I marked the outer lines of the outer part, just to be sure I´ll put on the superglue in the correct areas.
P3230105.JPG
Here I marked a line on the inner part, where I´ll cut out the middle part, to get some space on the inside of the shoulder armor later on.
P3230106.JPG
Using a big pipe to bend the armor parts with a heatgun.
P3230107.JPGP3230108.JPG
Cut out the middle part of the inner layer.
P3230109.JPG
Now I can the glue the two parts together using gel superglue.
P3230110.JPG
Here we have two basic shoulder armor parts. Cut away the egde from the inner layer. Next will be as usual... sanding, sanding... :wacko:lol:

Last time you could see, I already marked the areas where the dents will be placed.

Now, using a heatgun, I created the dents.

That´s the result with a little primer sprayed on. Also you can see the ESB shoulder decal, I´ll use.

Did a first test fit of the armor size on the vest. I use WOF´s templates in size Large (I´m 176 cm/5"9 ft"inch).
P3270075.JPG

What do you think? Are the positions right? I´d say: yes. :)

Hello! I haven´t been lazy this weekend.

Some armor and vest progress:

Building the centre diamond (sometimes it´s good not to throw everything away);)
P3280076.JPGP3280078.JPGP3280080.JPGP3280083.JPGP3280085.JPG

...and so the same for the rest of the armor, here the belly piece:
P3290087.JPGP3290086.JPGP3290088.JPG

...aaaaaaand some test fit on the vest including the centre diamond, the belly armor, the shoulder armor and fresh in the works, the collar armor.
