Dang guys. Thanks. I'm blushing. I could not have done any of this without some seriously great tutorials and references from TDHers.

Apparently I suck at topical painting.
I tried it & it looked nowhere near what yours looks like.
So Sanded down the blue (that had gobs of silver paint on it)
Reshot the silver
put a clearcoat over that
Then twisted my ankle so badly that I can't walk.:cry
( I mean that tear literally, it hurts soooo bad!)
Now my :jet pack is on hold for a few days.
It's driving me crazy.
It's just sitting there
waiting......

What kind of paint are you using? I take testors chrome and spray it into an empty bottle. Then I use 3 different brushes from biggest to smallest. I trimmed the smallest brush I could find and it wouldn't hurt to trim it a little more.

Sorry to hear about your ankle. My brother messed his up at jump school and he was down for a month.

Here is the finished product. Well, I still need to seal it. And I may give it another wash. But overall, it is wearable.

First these are pictures of the hooks and plate. I used what we call a zeus fastener from my work. Basically it is a spring loaded poppit.

Ah, good ol' Dzus fasteners! Raiding bench stock eh? ;)
I see about a million of these every day on the pylons on our A-10s when I'm doing postload inspections!
