Jiggy's armor progress thread

Hi folks, after looking around for a UK or EU manufacturer of Boba Fett armor i decided to give it a try myself.
I have bought some 3mm Styrene sheets and traced the stencils onto them.
After tracing i cut out the bits in a raw fashion.

Then i cut them even further down and left them with a 3-5mm edge along the stencil for a beveled edge.

Here's the shoulders after i shaped them with a heat gun.

Parts of them came out a bit wavy but i think i can make them work.
I have applied some model putty along the edged of the shoulders and plan to sand them a bit to smooth them out more.

Here's the first bit of the chest after shaping.

The edge is kinda a pain to shape right but i think i got this one on the right track.

I will update this thread when i get further along, any comments or critique would be appreciated!

I managed to get the second chest plate shaped before my heatgun gave out (DOH!).

Still need to add the blaster damage and refine the edges.

I am not entirely sure how to shape the indent in the diamond piece, i have the idea to first bevel the edged and then heat up the middle and "press" a piece of wood into the middle.

If anyone have some trick for this please let me know.

You're doing a great job. But it might be easier and faster if you just add strips of sintra around your edges, to get the desired thickness, and then sand the bevel into the piece.

That could work, i think i will try that on the kidney plate and the cod piece and keep to my first method on the collar plate and belly for consistency's sake.

Got the belly plate and the collar plate shaped and applied some physical damage to the whole thing.
I have also filled the gaps in the edges with some putty and sanded them down.

The shoulders still need some sanding.

Still need to figure out a way to do the diamond.

I am aware that the whole thing seems a bit wobbly, but i hope to sort that out before painting.

After a short break i am back at my armor build

I gave the chest diamond another shot after royally effing up the first try.

I think this one came out okay for ½ hour of work.
Just need to smooth out the edges a tad with some putty and it should be ready for a layer of primer.

Hmm i wonder why no one is willing to comment or critique this , does it look that bad ? :)
Anyway here's a quick pic of entire thing so far.

Now onwards to the butt-plate and codpiece !

To be honest the armor looks a little rough but it can be modified a bit, soften or round off some of the corners, the bottom of the belly part in particular, you should also add the dented
detail to the collar piece, hope this helps.
