Jet Pack Harness Rig

This is excellent work Gav and Rob! What will you guys think of next?

:confused I want to build a clone so maybe I can focus on that :D

Here is a little photo to compare the metal harness rig to the soft harness I currently supply with my Jetpacks when required.

I am waiting on some small detailed hardware parts and I can get this finished up (y)

To keep costs down, I am looking into child labour

Hey Gav,
How close is the diagram I made a few yars ago, compared to the one you guys made??
I worked off of the real harness pic as well as Dragonfetts.

I was wondering if the straps that attach thru the backplate are going to have these two rivots (not sure what to call them) on each side? Thanks http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/gallery2.php?g2_itemId=6919

I think I can help with this. Quite a lot f research has gone in to ALL aspects of this rig, not just how the metal section looks, including fabrics, weaves, all the additional hardware that is required for the straps to get this as close as possible, including rivets through the "white" webbing where the final rings are located. In fact, I think the rivets are the only parts of hardware that have not been custom made to replicate this harness.

I spoke with the awesome guy who makes up the replica stainless steel buckles and jetpack hooks, who is currently working on prototypes of the additional hardware for this project too, which includes all the webbing buckles etc and the lower jetpack hooks too. He tells me they will be with me within the next day or two. I can then produce the first finish rig (y)

More updates coming soon.

Rob. :cheers

Is there anyone who can make the bottom jetpack hooks that are screen accurate to go with this rig? The ones that DragonFett supplied with his rig work fine but are not screen accurate. I can't find anything in the hardware stores that come close. Has anyone found anything? Can these be made?

As Gavs says, if I am correct the DF ones had a hole to acess a screw fixing the back of the clip to the pack. We did not want this, and the prototype bottom clip/hook will no have this hole and hence look like the screen used ones, I can not be sure of the fixing method for the ilm ones, but we have come up with a way to fix them and achieve the correct look. Again, this was not the easiest way to do things, but adds more accuracy to the finished piece. This was a detail I particularly wanted to get right.

I hope to get a completed rig out very soon so you guys can see the work that has been going into getting this made.
