Interest Thread - Laser Cut Armour

EDIT:

I AM NOW TAKING ORDERS FOR BOBA FETT, JANGO FETT

PM ME FOR DETAILS!!!

Hello everyone,

Over the past few months, I've been experimenting with the CNC laser, and I was extremely satisifed with the way my suit of armor came out, everything seems perfect with the laser in control :)

I asked permission from WOF and I will be making Boba and Jango armour, full suits excluding the back piece due to the limitations of the laser. I could look into cutting those by hand though.

I'm not sure on price, it all depends on the price of Sintra, and the cost of using the laser.

I will try to get digital images as soon as I can. PM me the prices that you wish that the sets be charged at.

It seems more people are interested in Jet Pack pieces than the armour :D I'll have to see about that... for all I know the largest piece of the jet pack won't fit into the laser, I need to measure...

You could buy a cod by itself, but remember that it comes in two pieces, it's be your job to build up with the bondo. I recently finished my Boba fett cod, looks nice :) I suppose I could put it together for you, but I will also have to look into that :)

  • Specific sizes... this is something I thought about... set a direct size of 5'10" for example, or let me customize your armour... I'll have to talk to the man with the laser about that.
A Jango Fett back plate might be a little difficult to form due to the shape as it rounds...

the assembled cod is why i brought it up...i know i'm lazy

it's cool if you don't do the cod... but what about knees (complete)?

either way i'm in for the JP (y)

can't wait for pics... and prices:lol:

I "could" assemble the items for you, but that would require a bit of Bondo :) The Jango knees are also a little more complicated than the Boba knees. I'm not sure if I have those templates... I'll have to ask Alan for the AutoCAD.

I also don't have any knee darts, you're on your own there.

These are pics of my personal armour.

Fresh from the laser.

Okay, we've got the go ahead. Let's start cutting some sintra!

I'm going to take the jet pack pieces in CAD I have over to his house, let's hope they fit into the laser... If we have enough plastic, we'll pump out one or two jet packs, I may have to cut one part by hand if it won't fit. I hope that won't be a problem!

Hey everybody, a little update.

ARMOUR
I have finished the Boba Fett armour templates, still without the knee pieces, I can't seem to find the .dwgs. I had to modify the WOF templates a little bit to add more accuracy. Boba's armour is rounded on the edges, where is the WOF templates were not. They are ready to cut, I will talk about price tomorrow.

JETPACK The jet pack is also a go with the laser, right now I am working on the WOF templates to make sure that they all work. I've been editing them all night x.x

Expect another update tomorrow :)
